Felt the wind in your hair. What a feeling. This morning I got up early to drive out to the Tallahassee Rifle and Pistol Club clean up and luncheon. It's about a 36 minute drive from my house and I needed to be there by 0800. Made it no worries. I picked a detail that was easy for me and there was plenty of time for good conversation.
There's a threat of rain today but what the heck! I flipped the front part of the top back for the drive home. What a blast. I was worried about the top side curtains. I have the dual top so I had to install it without the luxury of FORD INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. They only had a lame video on how to take OFF your top and then put it back on. Doesn't mention anything about the brackets there are already installed on the roll bar incorrectly that will needed to be adjusted. BLAH BLAH. My passenger rear top window would constantly pop out. Adjusting the center bracket on the roll solved most of that. I also loosened and retightened the three (6 total)bolts that hold the top frame to the body in the cargo area. Not sure it moved anything. Anyway after that both windows would pop out when I lifted the back of the top for cargo access.
Well, I bought the IAG V2 EZ-Lift Soft Top Assist Strut System. After installing that AND discovering that not only should the front of the side widows be placed under the wire but apparently also the rear. I also noticed that the rear straps seem to be pretty tight. I don't remember them being so tight before the install. So once I did install of the EZ-Lift the windows don't seem to be popping out.
Back to the drive home. It was a blast. The rear side windows were flapping and I couldn't tell while drive if they had popped out of the front indent or not. After I arrived home I found that it was just the windows flapping in the wind.
So much a blast. I only had the hard top on about I week. Just long enough to figure out how to install the hard top lift. Now I need a soft top lift. So I can easily take it off by myself.
