Are there any more sturdy plates that can be used with the snorkel? Both the open and closed plastic covers on mine are a bit bowed and was curious if these could be replaced with a metal option? I have done a bit of searching but come up empty so far!

I made one for the closed cap, one day I'll make another for the open cap. Mine appears that the holes do not line up with the screw nut inserts, that is why its bowed. I know someone made a few I think maybe they were/are on Etsy.

There was a member here that had some of the open side CNCed out of aluminum and sold them on eBay. I don’t recall the screen name. He only had a few left when I bought mine back in January or February.

edit: found the eBay listing - https://www.ebay.com/itm/395083002482

Ouch $140 for both, might have to bite the bullet though.

Its easy to make the closed side at least, hardware store for a piece of aluminum sheet, card stock or cardboard to make your template. Mark the aluminum and cut with angle grinder, smooth the edges and spray paint.. Ok now after I say all that the $70 seems a small price to pay for all that time involved if you don't have these materials on hand.

You’re not wrong on the full process, especially for the open side. I wonder if enough owners were interested it would be worth getting machined in a batch.

I have seen on this site stated that 2 others are currently getting batch's made, I think you will have some to choose from soon based on that. But who knows if they ever come through. I made my closed side from materials on hand. I am going to make the open side once I figure out the pattern I want to use for the vent holes. Just because its simple enough for even me to make myself and I can personalize it.

Ours did the same thing, and the dealership said, "we can't cover this because you modified it". Had to show them that it is made to be reversable. They had no clue.
