  1. Towing 3,000+ lbs - Actual experience input requested

I was told by a trailer dealership, so you can take it with a grain of salt as it is hearsay, that legally they go by the GVWR of the trailer and not the actual weight. Which actually makes sense to me. But, once again, after searching the net, I can't find any instance of a first person story...
  2. SURVEY: Are 8 GOAT modes necessary

I'm not aware of "may customize gauges" in sport mode, going to have to play with that. If I could set my own mode for daily driving, it would be steering - tight, throttle - aggressive, transmission - normal.
  3. SURVEY: Are 8 GOAT modes necessary

I'd rather have zero GOAT modes, and the ability to select throttle response and steering stiffness, and keep it that way after a restart ;)
  4. Towing 3,000+ lbs - Actual experience input requested

maybe you're correc I appreciate debunking, and while I'm not a fan of AI we'll put that aside for now and I'll just admit that you have a good point. After your post, I tried but couldn't find any first person or news article about a legal issue for a non commercial vehicle towing over...
  5. Towing 3,000+ lbs - Actual experience input requested

I towed a rental Coleman Lantern 17 once with a WDH. I feel like the Bronco is under rated for towing, I barely knew it was back there and it had to be up around the 3500lb limit*. A few things to remember about towing: Legal (I'm not a lawyer, but my understanding): Basically nobody is going...
  6. Washing with well water - how are y'all avoiding hard water?

I use this one, a bit better priced. I only use it for the final rinse, rinsing off salt in the winter, or a quick rinse if I'm washing a car and something comes up and I need to step away...
  7. Ford Patents for ultra-surveillance/data collection in vehicles

That's pretty cool way to do that without bragging by having them all over the outside!
  8. Using factory pre-run wires for always-hot accessory power (bypassing upfitter switches)?

That's a shame, on Wranglers you can change the AUX switches to be always hot in the configuration. As for moving the fuse, that is also a MOPAR thing - if I recall, you can move a fuse to make the rear 12V power port always on or on with accessory. And I think that isn't limited to Wranglers ;)
  9. Towing a U-Haul Trailer

Good call out, I forgot about that. It's been the policy since at least 2007 when they wouldn't rent a trailer to my with my soft top JKUX. They said back then that the company was afraid that if you flipped on your side the trailer could swing around and injure the occupants. Not really sure...
  10. Towing a U-Haul Trailer

And I found a pic on my phone of the U-Haul utility trailer hooked up to the bronco, and I didn't remove the spare. Sasquatch tire, and I used a bar similar to above, no crazy drop.
  11. Towing a U-Haul Trailer

I towed the 6X12 a few times with my JLUR with no issues at all. I know I towed a utility trailer with the Bronco with no issues. I also towed a small camper that was probably right up around 3500 lbs about 90 minutes, but on a 70mph highway with no issues, the Bronco towed it just fine. You'll...
  12. Tube door Options

I got the Ford Tube Doors, but only because when I ordered it was still illegal to remove your doors in PA. But the law technically said that you had to run what came from the factory (so an old 80s CJ where the doors were optional was OK), and my thinking was that if they came with the vehicle...
  13. Went with the polished look for wheels.

Also the original explorer, my dad had one exactly like this when they first came out:
  14. How to disable the speed limitations for the side mirror lights?

I'll have to revisit this, these lights make great deer spotters, don't want to run them all the time but would be nice to switch them on without regard to speed. At least Ford gives us 5mph, RAM's shut off at any speed :(
  15. Got Rain w/o top, front cam went out and is back?!?!

As the title says, last night my bronco got rained on pretty well with no top or doors. Everything was fine, but when I got home and went to back into the garage, I saw the front cam wasn't working on the surround, and then tried the front cam and confirmed it was blank. This morning same...
