It's been a couple of years so I'm not quite sure, but I think the installer used a nut with a larger flanged then cut parts of the flange straight so it wouldn't twist when tightening the bolt.
After the Bronco was at the collision center my window was tracking even worst than before. Finally got around to doing the recommended adjustment. So far so good on tracking but really didn't help on rattle.

Also swapped out to Bilstein 5100's plus a rear anti sway bar. Yes the Bilsteins are pretty firm, but very little body roll with the two changes. Supposedly Rancho's ride a little softer, but they were on back order for forever and I finally gave up.
Thanks. This seems to be the most elegant solution. I'm going to measure opening and hopefully the above referenced grommet will work. If not off to the hardware store.
