I agree with the dust! The top has been 100% leak proof with regards to liquids. My only complaint is the lack of rain guards. In the rain the top drains water on to the door sill if the windows are down or if you open the door. Otherwise, this top has been a dream to own!
I personally have +10,000 miles with the top through various on and off road conditions. The roof latches work great and the seals are heavy duty. Almost nothing gets in, and we don’t have any leaks to report.
The gullwing latches are a bit finicky and let some dust in that way. Not a...
I wouldn’t say earlier models have noise issues. I do believe ford got better as the years progressed but from my experience, about 10k miles, there was a slight whistle with the factory hardtop at high speeds, excess of 65mph. I could be the only one, my deals could be messed up, but it was...
Hey that’s me!
I do have the liner. I couldn’t tell you distinctly how the liner impacts the sound as I’ve never drove without it.
As for the gap. If we are talking about spacing, we have since adjusted the top to move it forward slightly. The tolerances and seals provide really good...
I am right there with ya friend. I will say it feels like the SLack design does allow more driver FOV. When comparing it to the factory hardtop, the window seemed bigger and sat higher up. Now depending on where you drive the effectiveness of this is impacted greatly. This change here in Texas...
Great question! I have noticed a difference with windows up and down. Everything stated in my review was with the windows up though. I did have a friend who took my bestop drive my Bronco with the wheels down and they liked the sound difference so much they decided to purchase a hardtop...
I’m not sure if there are plans to work with bestop, but I will say removing the front panel only is doable and gives a similar feel. They are actively working on a 2-door option and I believe they are targeting the reveal for November at SEMA.
Ahhhh, that is not what I thought you were talking about. I am not 100% sure if the top with work with the tray in the up position. The top does not use any of the mounting locations that the attic tray uses from the looks of it. I am more concerned about space. You will definitely need a Sqack...
Yes, they place all thread studs into 6 locations across the roll bar. I do believe they use an 1/8” spacer before placing the top on. They did really well working with me on my overhead storage system. What brand are you using?
I don’t have an Apple watch and haven’t taken any readings yet personally. Earlier this year BlancoBroncoAdventures made a review of the prototype currently on Armadillos Bronco. See link here (dB readings @ 7:00):
