Went out with @WillRCTID and @SkiRig on Saturday, this time up in Washington. Met up in Battle Ground, then headed out toward Sunset Falls Campground, where we got on NF-41 and headed east. Quick detour up NF-501 to Lookout Mountain, then back on NF-41 to NF-43 and out Wind River Highway, out to SR-14, over the Bridge of the Gods to Cascade Locks for a beer.
Beautiful day to drive out there, just gorgeous scenery. No huge challenges generally, just lots of deep potholes in the early going, and rocky bumpy forest road stuff for the most part. We did find a neat spot to play around a bit near where NF-4104 intersects with 41.

Airing down near Sunset Falls CG. I kinda dig that we're all different model years, colors, and trims.

Big turnaround area here. Did a TON of trail cleanup. Spent shotgun ammo all over the place.

Same spot, from higher up. Might go back and explore NF-4104 next time.

Found a couple neat little steep descents off the top of the hill. We picked one that looked fun but wasn't too sketchy. We all got a tire off the ground at least once. Badlands and Wildtrak went before me.

I'm going to try and cut together the videos I shot and post here soon. Really fun drive. There's a couple other routes out there I hope we get together to check out soon.

I was just out that way the other week, going through Cougar before camping near the trail head for St Helens. Didn't do any other trails, but doing some research showed a couple over there, plus the WA BDR. Thinking about checking that out early fall before it gets too snowy up there.

Glad to see the Lookout Mountain gate is open again, seems like it's a 50/50 chance when I go by. If you need a fourth color/model, let me know! I'm over in Camas.

Will do! Next trip looking like it will be Aug 20, but over in Tillamook SF. Will or myself will post in the Oregon Bronco Club on here, maybe also the Northwest sub-forum.

Looking good! I'll try and keep an eye out for some of your future trips and join you if I can. I live in Ridgefield, WA and looking for some other folks to go out wheeling with.

@OregonMike Next time you visit Gifford, check out Burley Mountain Lookout. Also Lake Takhlakh is worth the drive.

Random Youtube video of Burley Mountain.
Hell ya, Burley mountain is my playground, I have been Hunting Elk there on that mountain since the 80s and spending time up there during the summers as well.
Go up 7605 rd or the half paved 77 both get you to the top.

Wow. Stellar views. It'd probably be a long day coming from the Portland area, but looks worth it!
