Hello from NC! I'm Emma. I finally got my dream car (truck) a 2024 Azure Grey Bronco Raptor after my husband decided I was "borrowing" his F-150 Raptor too often. His name is Mongo after one of my favorite book series.

I've been leaning a lot and I like to do my own work and maintenance because lately everyone who touches my truck hurts it šŸ˜…

I have 3 GSDs and a 10 year old mini me. I'm located near Fort Bragg, NC and my off roading is mainly consists of beach but I'm open to new experiences!

I’ll be starting a build thread here to document Mongo’s evolution and share a few awesome products I’ve discovered along the way. I'm hoping to be semi unique in my "build" because I enjoy the ✨fun✨ mods as well as the practical ones (being a tiny but mighty lady, "practical" might mean something different to fellas 🤣)

Looking forward to checking out everyone’s builds and picking up some ideas from the pros here!

EZ4x4 Hard Top and Door Removal Storage System Review and Discount code

TL;DR — EZ4x4 Setup Review (Door Cart + Top Lifter + Alignment Pins)

Removed all doors and the hard top by myself in 26 minutes (with a little help from my Milwaukee m12 ratchet and 3D-printed bolt holder šŸ˜…). The ONLY way to fit my truck and parts into my tiny and packed garage.

The EZ4x4 system makes everything effortless — the door cart, top lifter, and alignment pins all work perfectly together and make solo removal not only a breeze, but possible for a vertically challenged girl like me. code ā€œEMMAWEBā€ for 10% off your ENTIRE EZ4x4 order.

What I Got
  • EZ4x4 Top Lifter
  • EZ4x4 Door Cart
  • EZ4x4 Alignment Pins (for reinstalling doors)
I ordered Oct 2 and everything showed up Oct 7 — fast shipping and solid packaging.

Setup was simple and took me about an hour total thanks to the online video instructionson their website. Super straightforward once you see it done. I've seen plenty of negative feedback on the lack of assembly instructions, but I don't understand why. Printed instructions as well as video instructions are great.

EZ4x4 Door Cart

  • FITS RAPTOR DOORS! I went through two different ā€œuniversalā€ door carts before realizing none of them fit the Bronco Raptor doors because of that little fender flare bulge on the rear doors. The EZ4x4 cart is just wide enough to clear it. Thank God.
  • I compared it to the Top Lift Pro version, but chose the EZ4x4 because it holds the doors by the hinges instead of resting them on the paint or plastic. That alone was a huge win for me.
  • I was a little nervous about the smaller casters not rolling over the 1" lip between my driveway and garage, but it had no trouble at all.
  • Super lightweight, folds up compactly, and easily fits in the back of the truck when not in use.

EZ4x4 Top Lifter

  • The lift system is simple, smooth, and infinitely adjustable! No annoying pins, locking mechanisms, or preset holes like other brands. That makes it way easier to lift or lower the top in tiny, controlled increments, which is a lifesaver when you’re working solo.
  • It easily supports the full hardtop, center panel, and both front roof panels, all while being easy to move and adjust.
  • Huge space-saver—I can park right underneath all the roof pieces once they’re up.
  • It folds down effortlessly and takes up almost no space when stored. Even folded, it’s still on wheels, so you don’t ever actually have to lift the heavy frame to move it.

EZ4x4 Door Alignment Pins

  • These pins mount directly to your door hinges, so you never have to swap the factory cone pin in and out every time.
  • Before I got these, I’ll be honest — the Bronco Raptor doors felt too heavy for me to line up confidently on my own. I was always nervous about scratching something or chipping paint. Now, I can do it completely solo without worrying. The doors just drop right onto the lower pins while I can focus on aligning the top pin.
  • Installation was super simple: screw them in, tighten them down, and that’s it. I checked torque snugness after a couple uses, but nothing loosened up.
  • They stay on full-time, which saves me from having to reinstall anything each time I take the doors off.

Final Thoughts and Coupon Code

The EZ4x4 setup completely changed how I take the doors and top off my Bronco Raptor. Everything fits, works smoothly, and actually makes it fun to do solo instead of stressful. The quality and thought that went into each piece really shows.

Honestly, I wish I’d gotten this setup sooner.

If this review helped or made your choice easier, you can use code ā€œEMMAWEBā€ for 10% off your ENTIRE EZ4x4 order. And if you have any questions or want tips on setup or storage, feel free to reach out — happy to help!

That's a gorgeous rig you've got.

I'm going to be buying an EZ-top lifter for my Wildtrak in the next but not looking forward to the exchange rate and shipping costs to Canada.

Thank you! I am biased but pretty in love. Ever since they announced the Broncos I've wanted one. I'm thrilled to finally got it.

International shipping can be steep. I'm sorry, but I can say that the product is worth it and I have that 10% code listed above if it helps at all šŸ˜…

Glad you mentioned the book series, as ā€œmongoā€ has a totally different (and highly offensive) meaning in other parts of the English speaking world. 😬

Really? I'm going to have to search now šŸ˜…

It's also short for "Velociraptor mongoliensis" aka the scientific name for a Raptor lol

Overseas, it’s shorthand for a word ending in ā€œloidā€ that was used from the late 19th century into the early 20th to refer to people who were from Asia or who had Down Syndrome.

And best of all is the Blazing Saddles ref. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071230/

Back when society wasn’t overly sensitive. Got to love the good ole days.
Blazing Saddles is like a lot of Chris Rock’s and Dave Chappelle’s material — there’s a lot of it that people love for entirely the worst possible reasons, much to the horror of the people that came up with it.

It’s a funny film, but a lot of people miss the point.

Perhaps the problem isn’t that people are overly sensitive - perhaps the problem is that there are a lot of people that continue to think, act, and feel like they’re in the era before the Civil Rights Movement.

Heininger Portable PET Twistep Dog Hitch Step – 3-Month Review (w/ 3 GSDs + Bronco Raptor)

TL;DR:
After trying multiple failed options, the Twistep is hands-down the best solution for helping my three large dogs get in and out of my Braptor safely.

Highlights:
  • Twists under the vehicle for quick, everyday use
  • Removes easily (no tools) to keep that sacred departure angle
  • Big, non-slip surface; even my most excited GSDs don’t miss it
  • Rated for 400 lbs, so it doubles as a step for me too
šŸ”— Twistep - Amazon

Why It’s Needed

I’ve got three German Shepherds (85–105 lbs, ages 1–8) who love to ride along. I’m small, they’re big, and lifting them in isn’t safe for me or their joints. Jumping down from a Bronco with 37s and Raptor suspension isn’t much better, so I needed something safe and easy for all three to use.

What Didn’t Work
  • Folding stairs: Too steep when extended for the Braptor’s height.
  • Folding ramp: Too short and too bulky.
  • Standard hitch step: Too small (two of my dogs missed it completely in their excitement)
Why the Heininger Twistep Wins

Bought on Amazon, arrived in a few days. It’s sturdy, easy to use, and doesn’t get in the way. The step stays in place or twists neatly under when not needed for daily driving.

Install/removal takes seconds when I’m actually using my Bronco for fun and need that departure angle. It also fits easily in the back if I want to bring it along for off-roading or camping.

It’s pricier than the other options I tried, but it works… and that alone makes it worth every penny.

My dogs are back to daily rides, and my back (and their joints) are grateful.

If anyone has questions about fitment, install, or how my dogs took to it, feel free to ask!

Bottom Line:

If you’ve got big dogs and a tall vehicle, the Twistep is 100% worth it.

šŸ”— Twistep - Amazon
