In February, a group from the PNW Broncos club went out to Capitol Forest in Washington State to play in the rain. Good times in the greasy mud under the power lines with 16+ Broncos including @ThunderFlash. Checkout the PNW Broncos FB Page for more events in the area: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1Kr5HEd3Wm/

That was a lot of fun Scott and thanks for setting that all up. That mud was the definition of "snotty". I'd been out to Capital Forest on my quads years ago, but then a few times recently in the Bronco and never could find anything other than forest service roads. I'll have the wife keep an eye out for future endeavors!

Would anyone be so kind as to clue me in on where in the capital forest this was? My wife and I are going out there tmrw afternoon to put around and it would be great to be able to have fun on something other than the well maintained logging roads!

@RedBeardoh, I believe the trails are all under the power lines. I know I've struggled to find 4X4 trails out there myself. Maybe @Scott M can help with some OnX info.

Are the power lines near the rock candy mountain trailhead? I’ve only been out to capital twice in the past and it’s been quite some time. We normally play around in the greenwater area because it’s super close to home for us, but being a solo day we didn’t feel like pushing our luck in the snow too much

I believe we did meet up at the Rock Candy Mountain TH. If you look at the satellite image of Capital State Forest and zoom in by Rock Candy, you can see on the north side of the forest the high tension power lines and the trails running along them.

Personally, I like Tahuya just outside of Belfair better. But maybe I haven't explored Capital SF enough yet.

Tahuya is a ton of fun, haven’t done it in the Bronco yet. Did a little in my Ranger (RIP) and in my buddies heavily built Xterra. Hoping to be able to join a group run to tahuya sometime soon..

We will definitely get in touch with you to plan something out! We both have weekends off. I’m just waiting on new compressor to come in since my last one finally died then we’ll be ready to hit some trails.

@RedBeardoh, did you see the video of @Scott M taking his Bronco Fern up Yellow Jacket Hill? Ran it like a rock star. I was just a scared little welp watching from the bottom! He killed it, made it look easy.

I did! Looks like a ton of fun. Wife and I just got back from LV offroadeo and are itching to find some fun trails to run. She did amazingly well and really impressed our guide, great spotter and a great driver. Trying to talk her into getting her own Bronco now 😅 I’ve done some medium trails in my Ranger before, drove about a mile in the Yakima river to get around a landslide, but the bronco is a much more capable package so I’m looking to push our comfort zone a little more
