That`s how it goes when you work at a dealership,we have learned it and live it every day.
Took 8 months last year for the shock recall fix to come out,and the crying and wailing that went on because of that was deafening. Still no fix for fuel pump recall.
I’ve seen a fair share of recalls -and 100% understand I’m new here- but I think there is a huge difference between waiting on physical parts and a software update. Not to mention that this recall is preventing ALL sales of current and aged inventory. So that leads me to believe that it is best for them to correct the problem as soon as possible. Especially after a massive decline in Bronco sales… regardless I’m stuck waiting to take delivery so unfortunately I have a vested interest in this topic.

With the community here and those on the front lines at the dealerships I simply ask for those of us waiting…that if you have some information that may normally not be privy to the public, that you help us if you can. We’re just trying to be apart of the community too… and have no bronco to do so with🤷🏼‍♂️ Savvy?

I know it may seem that way, but it’s not really the case. Software issues take just as long (and sometimes longer) than physical part repairs for Ford to fix.

For example, all the fuel pump recall is waiting on right now (as far as I know) is software. It’s taken forever, and it’s still got a while left:

Will this be a SW fix only ... and, if so, what is the likelihood that it could be a simpler OTA push?

Sorry which recall are you asking about. The recall for this thread, or the fuel pump one?

Fair point on some software campaigns dragging out. Out of curiosity though since this one is just an APIM update and not a PCM / powertrain calibration, wouldn’t it typically just be waiting on the FDRS calibration package to get released once validation is done? My understanding was the longer ones usually involve emissions or drivability validation, which doesn’t apply to an infotainment module. #iknowhowtoreverse Just trying to understand if this one is actually different behind the scenes.

Much appreciated bro( got a street fighter too 🫣)

Sorry ... yes, Infotainment Screen/APIM issue.

Thanks!

I’d be surprised if the fuel pump one is changing anything involving emissions. All software just takes a while for Ford to release, there are plenty of other examples of non-engine related programming changes taking forever also.

We really have no access to that type of inside information though. Ford doesn’t release anything like that. But I’m sure with this being a stop sale, it probably does take a higher priority

Sorry ... yes, Infotainment Screen/APIM issue.

Thanks!
It certainly could be OTA. I think it will mainly depend on the size of the update. Unfortunately that information won’t be known until there’s a full bulletin released by Ford. But yes, as far as I know, this is software only.

That makes sense. I figured the stop-sale probably puts it higher on Ford’s list. Curious if something like this usually shows up in OASIS first before the calibration hits FDRS, or if those tend to drop at the same time.

They will drop at the same time. The calibration will typically be available as soon as they release the full bulletin, moving it from advanced notice to repairable.

It is the hassle associated with taking the vehicles to the dealer that annoys me. Then the fact that the rig never comes back without another issue ..scratch, ding, rip, stain, broken clip......

I received an OTA update the other day that specifically said the screen. 2025 build, bought in Sept 2025. Wonder if that is the recall fix?!

edit: Here it is, from the Ford app. Different number, so appears to not be the one discussed above.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but if there was a solution to this mess, there would be a Stroppe in my driveway instead of disappointment and bitterness.

No, it’s not. The software isn’t available yet.
