My bronco won’t unlock without me pushing the button…. That started yesterday after the update. I have smart unlock
Maybe it changed a setting in the vehicle menu? I am but a lowly base owner without that feature...:cwl:

Maybe try looking in the lock/unlock settings. I wish you the best.

My 2021 has never done an OTA update since I bought it new. And yes I have all the menu settings correct to update. The only time my software ever updated was when the service department did it manually and claimed it would be fine moving forward. But it still has never updated on its own. So I'm not getting my hopes up on this recall ever getting taken care of.

Do you live in an area with good cell coverage? The only issues I've ever seen that cause OTA to not occur are problems with signal coverage, low SOC of the battery , and bad TCUs

Cell signal is fine. And it connects to wifi when it's parked at home. And it's never once done OTA, regardless of whether I've done lots of short trips or a long one that would fully charge the battery. Service department says everything is working fine. This short thread has some of the details:

The funny part was... yesterday, I get a call from my dealer out of the blue, they did had ran my VIN again and I actually have no recalls that need to be done. Then went on to tell me its common that when these recall notices go out, they go out in mass, "its sent to thousands of owners". So thousands of people will initially get the notices, but there will be a lot thats included and get notices that doesn't actually have a recall... but that it gets straightened out as they work thru it.
That's just your dealer saying, "I'm telling you without telling you that I actually have no idea how recalls work. 😁

As you know, Ford doesn't just mass-mail everyone who has a certain vehicle to tell them that probably, maybe a recall applies to you. No, they determine exactly which VINs apply based on the time period of when vehicles were produced, and send recall notices only to those vehicle owners. (I'm saying this more for the benefit of anyone else who reads this.)

I guess the one part the dealer got right is, yes, recalls are typically sent out to thousands of owners. 😁

I’m not sure that’s a menu option, but definitely worth checking. Thanks for the idea

I have no specific knowledge of this, but it sounds like they need to add a heat sink, upgrade an existing heat sink, or possibly replace the entire part that has an upgraded heat sink already attached.
Bronco recalls are the gift that keeps on giving to the dealers. They get paid and we get nothing but inconvenienced. Customers should be compensated too.

Dealers are affected by this as well we can't sell some of the vehicles that we have. And us techs make almost nothing on warranty recalls

So the recall is for the whole screen turning off due to overheating. Usually a black screen on the camera screen means an issue with the camera or wiring. If you want to send me a DM with your VIN I'll see what's going on as long as you have Ford pass enabled
You're right it's either the camera or a lose wire somewhere, but the dealer went ahead and did the recall for the camera replacement, so I wondered if they really replaced the camera....hmmm

Send me your VIN and I can look at your warranty history and see what they replaced

My 2024 Ford Bronco Badlands received the update at 11:30am today (Saturday). I was at the grocery store when it started and I parked in the driveway when I got home and it finished shortly after I arrived home.

So lucky, I started to purchase a 2024 on March 7th and it was halted by this recall. I've been in recall jail ever since. Hoping soon to take delivery. This gives me hope!
