I got the notice yesterday, but it says a software isn’t available yet. I’m not sure if that’s because the older models need more time or they got a fix in sooner than the letter anticipated. I think the letter said June or later. Oddly, though, just as we got home the night before, the Bronco said it was finishing a software upgrade, so maybe I got it—haven’t checked to see what they update was supposed to cover. I never had a blank screen problem before the update, but that’s not the first time I got a recall notice to fix a problem I never had. 🙂 I never had the windshield wiper issue, either.

Mine (‘25 Heritage) updated last evening. Really glad they did it OTA, it was going for its first oil change tomorrow, and they said the recall update would take a few hours.

They lied to you. I'm a mobile technician for Ford. The recall takes 15 mins. Most likely they dont have anyone who can do itat the time of your oil change

6GB download, wait for the inserted USB to get recognized and software installed, shutdown and wait for 10 minutes with the driver's door ajar, get back in start it up and wait for the "You can remove the USB" notice and then clear all DTCs and close out. It's really closer to about 40 minutes...but you're right...it doesn't take hours...or a powersupply either. Just a fast USB drive and good internet.

This isn't the update. From the main thread the recall update specifically states its for the recall with the recall code 26S09.

I got the recall notice on Friday. My Bronco is a 9/24 build and the notice stated the remedy is anticipated to be available for 2021-2024 Edge and Bronco by June 1, 2026. It also stated in red, Software is not available.

I thought I was going to be lucky and avoid a recall. Mine, until now, has fallen between all the recalls. At least this one should be an easy fix, hopefully.

You are correct I had this recall mixed with another recall. Yes it still does not take hrs. The ones on the 26 Broncos take me about 25 mins even with the 10 min door ajar. The 25s so far have been 30-40 mins. Man I've got so many recalls in my head lol

I talked to ford dealer and they said a physical part needed replacement. It is an overheat issue. I have a 2024 Heritage 2 door manual. And as one could guess from that build spec I neither have the app or auto updates. It’s a truck not an IPhone.
With no remote start I have zero need for a phone app. Was funny the dealer trying to rationalize why I needed the app when I picked it up. I mean I can see why Ford would want me to have the app…… 🤑. Automatic with remote start totally makes sense.

Truck going in for the shock thing soon, though that sounds kinda lame as well. If it’s not broken I don’t think they do swuat

I have no specific knowledge of this, but it sounds like they need to add a heat sink, upgrade an existing heat sink, or possibly replace the entire part that has an upgraded heat sink already attached.

Uhhh, as far as I’m aware it’s an APIM module update requiring no new hardware.
They are just taking their sweet time getting each MY certified before they push the OTAs out to each group.

2024 I received the same letter. We've never experienced the problem. This is our first recall notice we've received for our Bronco.
