In short just trying to see what everyone has, I'm mainly looking for same year and make but I just want to know if I'm crazy.

2021 Bronco Badlands 4dr 2.7l
Sync Software Version 21091
Sync Revision Number 107

My main issue is none of the OTA updates will work since I'm in Germany and it seems like the dealers never checked the sync revision number when doing the annual maintenance check. As I understand, the software version is related to the year/model build but the revision number should be much higher. I also think this may also be affecting my fordpass app not being able to sync, but that may also be due to not being in the states. I've tried resetting the sync and such with no avail. I'm starting to think I may need to ford the expensive connection tool thing from Ford (I've seen it mentioned in the forums here but I'm on mobile and it can be hard to search for me)

Why not just ask your dealer to update the APIM instead of waiting for them to check for a software update during a maintenance check?
Here in the states, checking what version a module is on isn't something dealers really ever do either unless there's an issue or it's in for something requiring the module to be updated.
I'm guessing most of your issues, like you mentioned, are related to being in Germany. So there's probably not much any update would do regardless.

Fair point about them checking. I just assumed they would during the annual checkup but that's definitely on me.
I will be going to a Ford shop but I want to see what everyone else has so they don't try to push me away. Because I'm overseas I actually had to purchase from MAS, which also sucked because I wasn't authorized any of the extra Ford points when I purchased it.

Same vehicle (except mine is a 2dr), same software version and revision number. To the best of my knowledge it has never updated since I purchased it new in April 2022. And I'm in the USA. The dealer has repeatedly told me it's up to date and there's nothing they can do.

However, I dropped it off today for some unrelated issues and made sure that my friend who is one of their service technicians was the one working on it. Because I knew he would communicate with me much better than some random person. He just called and said there was a TSB released about SYNC updates within the last week or so that should fix the issue. Whatever they are doing will take at least 8-12 hours so they are getting me a loaner car for tomorrow.

I'll post back with more when I know if it updated successfully.

Successful update!

I'm now on version 22293, revision 610
No idea if that's fully up to date or not, but it's certainly better than it was.

Here's what they put on the invoice, in case it helps:
"Verified the customer's concern. The technician found 25-2055 applies to the customer's concern. Verified the vehicle has open campaign 25-2107. This vehicle requires software module updates. Accessed the diagnostic port, connected the FDRS and performed a gateway module software update APIM update and TCU update all needed several updates to complete process. Cleared all diagnostic trouble codes. The system is now operating as designed. Request extra programming time"

I looked online for info about the two codes mentioned. 25-2055 is a TSB that came out about a month ago regarding sync not working properly. I couldn't find anything on 25-2107, and I think it might be a typo.

25-2107 is the newest number and supersedes 25-2055

This is fantastic news! I'm glad it worked out for you and thank you for all the information. I'll definitely let my local shop know about the TSB and hopefully all my issues will be fixed.

Thanks, and good luck with yours.

I did some quick research and 22293 is definitely not the most recent version. But at least now it's only 2 years out of date instead of 4. And maybe the OTA updates will finally work??? Fingers crossed.
