I had an 89 Bii owned it for over 20 years. Loved it

I too experienced my own Transmission issues with the 5 speed (I was on my 3rd when I sold it) the last one i did a core swap/rebuild with Midwest transmission.

On the 2.9 I rebuilt the short block once and did the long block twice. I was on the second rear end and many different sets of tires, plug wires, drive shaft U joints etc.

She was very close to 300,000 miles when I sold it.

I loved the simplicity of it. I could park it anywhere and it was very simple mechanically. It just worked. Locking hubs manual 4 low/high/ neutral.

I was having issues with the roof/window seals leaking etc. Got the G6 Bronco as replacement.

I still miss my Bii every day. I named her Fury from that Brad Pitt WW2 movie after the tank that just kept going.

I've only had my BII for three and a half years, but I too love it. Got the 6G because some life stuff came up causing me to have to take long drives regularly. Can't afford both, so now I've sadly got to sell the BII

And to think I always thought the Bronco II was huge! It is Lilliputian compared to the new Bronco!
