Got mine w/kickers, well packed, easy install, sounds good (w/mobridge) - happy with purchase.

Finally - I am done with this 18 month B&O obliteration project.
Details on the mobridge and why?

Did you open up the crossover points on the rear channels? I would recommend dropping them to 100hz if using 6.5inch speakers. It will give you lots more midbass

Good call thanks. I haven't got the laptop out there yet - once weather here warms up a bit I plan on recalibrating.

Just mentioned the mobridge for context about what I'm driving the pods with. As for why: like quite a few folks unhappy with the B&O (23 brap), I started incrementally replacing bits and pieces. Also like many, I got the bug and had eventually replaced all the speakers (more than once), landed on a kicker 500.1 and stinger tailgater (which for the low end was working fine), but felt like stock B&O amp wasn't driving the fronts and kicks with enough juice. Toyed with idea of adding a kicker 200.4, but honestly seemed like it was all getting too complicated (harness upon harness, etc.). Decided to just reset, bite the $$ bullet and go mobridge - simplified everything, plenty of power everywhere, and extremely tunable to speaker selection and taste. Quite an investment, but I'm happy with it.

That’s really interesting, I follow you logic and the hunt! That’s a very impressive AMP.

You’ve also replaced all the speakers throughout the Bronco. How many are there within the B&O system… my BRaptor has B&O. What speakers did you go with?

What do you estimate your final investment for what’s installed, not counting previous try’s & removes?

You Sub & Amp… did all this replace stock location or additional space?

My naive question, the Bronco is an above noisy vehicle by design (no complaints, expected it)… with all the road noise, do you receive the quality you seek at “conversation” volume or needs to be higher?

As you mentioned and I curiously checked the AMP link…. That’s a big investment in a 4x4 Rig knowing environment won’t be conducive to quality audio at low level. Appreciate high quality audio, but just wondered if you felt, now that you’re done if it’s a worthy investment.

8 speakers in my 23 B&O now with a smorgasbord of brands, for sure not well planned in advance and not s-tier audiophilia (much higher tier speakers available that would surely take it up another level for more $$), but mission accomplished for me especially with mObridge tunability.
  • Rear: (L, R) These SSV pods w/Kicker KM 6.5s
  • Front Dash: (L, C, R) JL Audio C1-400x
  • Front Kicks: (L, R) Memphis MJP6 6.5" MOJO Pro
  • Sub: (C) Stinger Single 12" Tailgate TXFBB12
  • DSP/Amp: mObridge
Probably ~$3800 all in, considering kilmat and other stuff, with half of that being the amp. Everything basically stock location except the sub, hanging on tailgate.

With top on, I get the sound I'm looking for at reasonable levels. No doubt highway speed adds a challenge, but mid level volume ~12 or so is still very good. With top off it's different, lose quite a bit of the 'theatre', need to crank up more at speed, and this is where I think these SSV pods with the 6.5 can really help out.

Worthy investment? Highly subjective and relative I suppose. I spent more than I expected (although I also 'expected' the 'premium' B&O system in a $90K vehicle to not be utter piss). However, I daily drive this thing, min 60-90 mins a day and I like music, sometimes with excessively loud bass. So while staring at a spreadsheet breakdown in the office, I tend to think it was not a wise investment, but when on the road or buzzing around on trails with a smile on my face, it seems worth it. It's light years ahead of the B&O - it's not even close.

By the way - since it seems like I kind of unintentionally hijacked the thread - these SSV pods with are great and an easy install. Shipped fast, packed well, highly recommended.

Not HiJacked… on same subject, just expanded.

Thanks, appreciate it.. I like clear audio more than volume… but volume needs to be included too!
I’d agree, the little rear speakers didn’t give a balanced perception. The SSV Pods will help a lot!

Growing up with a CJ5 and self build pine box housing 4 speakers on back seat… open top I can clearly relate! Kidding!

I think we all add things to our Boncos and later realize we overshot that intended project, and on to next repeating another excessive project. Few of us are buy and use it as it came… I don’t know how to do that!

Got the Braptor back and installed them this morning.

Install:
Pretty easy. I haven't done stereo work before so I would have liked to have some instructions just to QC what I was doing but I ended up looking at the non raptor instructions to get an overview. QR code inbox doesn't lead to instructions and there are non on the product page. Went to kickers website to verify what the little black box that came with the speakers was for. I did the install with the top on and it was not difficult at all.

Sound:
Sounds good, very clear. Someone mentioned it but if you are running just these and the rest are factory, you will want to balance the sound biased to the rear. Makes them come alive.

Annnnd now I don't like any of the factory speakers...

How do the SSV speaker sound? I’m about to pull the trigger, I like the colored grills but don’t want to sacrifice sound if it’s way off.
They sound much better than the Smaller OEM, although disappointing at the same time. Probably because my expectations were high and expected more balanced sound.. the rear OEM were practically nonexistent.

These speakers you still need to move balance slider back to rear to get a center balanced sound.

That all said, they do produce better sound going down Highway at 75-80mph.

Although I’m seeing this as a temporary solution, next step somewhere in future (not a rush) will go for one of the all inclusive packages: Speakers, New Bass setup, Amp, and new grills to fit speakers in dash and rear bass. Those are a bit pricey for my needs at the moment.

@derichio02 To maximize the sound for the rear pods, we suggest you use FORScan to really open up the speakers. The stock setting for the rear pods is set at Tweeter so the power to the pods is low.

Thanks. I have B&O so no Forscan adjustments unfortunately. I was more asking about volume and clarity of the Ssv vs kicker speakers.

Didn’t know that… is there a setting in ForScan you can provide. Does this apply to B&O in Raptor too?

That would help my purchase as well.
