Hello all, recently got the ever so popular Wolfbox G900 Tri Pro Bumper came version from spring sale.

Looking for some ideas for camera mounting location/methods for both the rear camera and the bumper camera.

I know the popular option is on 3rd brake light but many downsides like vibration/weather/rain covered. Another one is inside the spare but the narrow to nonexistent gap of the heritage wheel makes this impractical.

Looking to mount on the inside of hardtop on the top rear window trim. But can’t find any detailed looks of ppl mounting in similar places.

throw your setup down below!
Thanks

I mounted my rear camera on top the break light, using a bracket on Etsy (seller: Crossroads3D) to protect it from direct rain/weather. It seems to work great and I don’t feel like the vibrations coming from the camera are bad at all.

I put a small hole in the rubber grommet in the tailgate where the break light wiring harness comes through and ran the camera wire through that (then sealed around the hole with some black silicon RTV to make sure it was water tight again). Then followed that wiring harness through the tailgate and down the passenger side. The install is very clean.

I haven’t noticed any problems with weather on the camera yet and it honestly stays cleaner than the factory rear camera in my spare mount (so far). I can’t yet account for how this bracket will stand up to Texas summer heat, but I did email the seller about that and he assured me it would be fine.

For me, this seems like the best option. I don’t want it on the rear glass because I do take the top off from time to time. Mounting on the rear pillar seemed to be too obstructed, and would suffer from the back glass tint.

I had initially mounted my wolfbox on a mount looking through the spokes of my badlands, it was great other than when it was raining hard. Traded it in for a raptor, on that I initially mounted it 2 places in the cab hoping to avoid the weather issue. First, against the back window using an extra mounting place a got from amazon and some 3m tape, it vibrated a lot and I wasnt happy with the image quality. Then I moved it to the xbrace on the raptor, probably 12-18" from the back glass. That soved the vibrating issue, but the image was still blown out and not sharp I guess because it was too far from the glass, still not happy. Ended up getting a KC Lites spare tire light mount and mounting it there (also adding the crossroads protector). It is 1000% better, not completely imune from the weather issues, but so much better than through the glass that it is worth it.

Mine is under my bumper. Vision gets a little obscured in rain sometimes and glare at night can be a thing from headlights but otherwise it does the job and I have no intention of moving it. I didn't like the idea of seeing any wiring to mount it above the third brake light and that just doesn't look finished to me. Soft top would not yield the greatest vision from inside as well. It's nice and tucked up, protected & inconspicuous.

I put mine on the back of the hard top, outside, in the middle at a slightly down angle. No headlight glare, works great.

Like a previous poster stated, I also used the Crossroads housings for my lower front camera and rear camera mounted on the 3rd brake light. The front camera simply uses 3m tape and the rear actually mounts to the brake light housing. Both housings are very secure and well made. Hope this helps!

This was an idea I saw too! And u can flip it down in the same mount and have it be an undercarriage cam on trails. How did u ran the wiring for this?

I have a review thread on this product that shows exactly. I ran it following the stock wiring (license plate light wiring) and up by the taillight then through the interior.

If anybody has a @TrailRax TRMR and wants to mount the rear camera from the G900 Tripro to their rack I have an extra 3D printed mount that I got from a seller on Etsy. I was sent 2 because of an issue with USPS and the seller said to give it to someone else. It's free you just need to pay for the shipping. PM if interested.
