I posted this in Ranger6G since I just bought a Ranger Raptor.
But the distances are pretty much the same at each color warning thingy.

I took my measurements from the rear tire, since that is what will contact first on the Broncos, and all of the distances were similar.

Cut and paste from other forum:

I have always wondered just how far away I am from what the rear camera is warning me about.
Green/Yellow/Red... okay, but what is the actual distance?

I actually measured from the receiver, since that is what will contact first.

The first lines are the green ones:

Ford Bronco {thread} {filename}

Ford Bronco {thread} {filename}

Distance to the receiver: 6.5 feet

Ford Bronco {thread} {filename}

Now the Yellow lines.

Ford Bronco {thread} {filename}

Ford Bronco {thread} {filename}

Distance to the receiver 3 feet.

Ford Bronco {thread} {filename}

Then we get to the Red lines.

Ford Bronco {thread} {filename}

Distance to the receiver 15 inches

Ford Bronco {thread} {filename}

Useless thread... but I have always wondered.

Yellow, should be the tailgate open.. haven't tested but I drove a postal van with the different colors, and one of the trasitions showed how far you could back up while still being able to open the back of the van doors. Like the yellow lines on that thing showed where you should stop to be able to still open them.

My S650 has bars that are way closer since it has a “trunk”… think 🤔

I've wondered the same thing and done a couple quick and easy tests with both front and rear cameras. One problem on the rear is when you are not backing up to a fully uniform vertical wall, deciding where each colored line actually ends/touches something is ambiguous.

The first measurement is 5.5 feet, not 6.5 feet.

How much distance from those guides is one of the first things I check. There will be some variance between different vehicles even within the same year & model. My Stock non-sas Badlands is right at 9" from my spare to the red lines.

Well now I'm gonna have to get the tape out and measure mine...

Well I went out to test my theory, and it's pretty spot on (ish) atleast for the Bronco. I have some lines in my driveway so I used those. I lined up the yellow bar with a score line in the concrete and it seems to work. Sorry about the shadows, but the end of the door seems to line up pretty good with the yellow.

Not super scientific, but now I know where I can stop to get my door open.

That's great stuff my friend...!!!
Several times I have had to pull the Bronco forward because I didn't leave enough room for full tailgate opening or try and squeeze between.
