What's the craziest thing you've seen behind the wheel?

I had to overtake a Caribou and pass him on the left once.

Very deep snow but the road was plowed to only an inch deep. When I came upon him, he didn’t want to run off the road. He went down the road away from me. We both kept picking up speed and I eventually crossed the centerline to pass him. He was hauling ass at the point.

My city has wild burros. You have to watch out for them, people hit them all the time. An ex co-worker totaled his Toyota Camry hitting one at 50mph.

My sister visited a while back. She had to follow me to the freeway. We pull up at a stop sign and there was a burro standing next to the stop sign. I counted in my head: 3, 2, 1. Sure enough, she called. WTF IS THAT?

Had a co-worker who drove a little Mercedes stick shift while eating cereal...and I was with him!

Lots of deer stories, mostly misses....but had one run INTO drivers door of a hunting partner.

Deer are no joke either! I used to deliver for Domino's 35+ years ago. A deer literally attacked a co-workers car while he was driving, did thousands in damages. Guess he preferred Pizza Hut.

I've seen them up in the mountains. Similar to the Burros, they're stubborn and not going to move for you sometimes. I had a stare down with one that was blocking a single lane road. Honking just made it look more angry.

I ran across a bull moose on a road many moons ago. A.. large bull. He did not give even one shit about me and continued slowly along the road. Because I don't like the idea of dying in a modern re-enactment of Jurassic Park, I just waited for the 10 or so minutes it took him to decide to move on up the hill off the road.

Another one: I was in Yellowstone a couple months ago. It's the first time I've been in a traffic jam because of bison. A small group of bison, with a couple large bulls, were hoofing down the road. Hundreds of cars were backed up both ways. A few were stupid enough to try to drive around them. They were lucky though -- those bison were chill and did not decide those annoying shiny things needed an ass kicking. About a mile or two up the road they took a right turn at an intersection, hah.

On a long gravel road at dusk, in the remote Oregon desert. I saw an orange light in the sky about 3-4 miles away. Within a second, it was hovering low in front of me. Large black disk, with orange lights. I stopped to snap a photo. When I reached for the camera, it darted down and to the left. It was gone. Hmmmm

The picture would have been blurry anyway. We believe you though.

Yup, smart to wait them out from a distance (or turn around and take a different route). Those are huge!

Now I remember more. Up in the mountain above Buffalo, WY, had a moose just step over a 4-5' rail fence on the side of the road and keep walking. We were in an Astro van moving along DOWN the mountain, which means pretty quick, and believe me when I tell you that brown fur covered the windshield!! I don't know we didn't hit it and die.

We also had a few deer cross the interstate right in front of us at 2 in the morning as we were heading out of MN to the river and WI. Driver did a great deer dodge, again in that Astro, without rolling it.

I saw a tar pot flip as I was following behind the truck, he got to wiggling for some reason and over she went....as I drove by! And had an idiot Ill-Annoyed state trooper do a U-turn directly in front of me going down I-57 AT SPEED to grab someone going the other way. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! Spinning tires and throwing gravel coming out of the median. My buddy and I had to change shorts.

Back in the 70's working as a lineman Near Breckenridge, CO driving a Bucket Truck when looked in driver side mirror + saw rear dual tires + axle working their way out.Was in a big hurry to downshift before the brakes were going to lock up on an ice/snow covered. road Got slowed down + pulled over in 1 of the few widespots.Wrecker showed up + got me back to My Service Center.Just before I got off the road those dual tires attached to the axle went past me on fire + sailed off the road on a corner into about 10 ft. of snow.Oncoming drivers avoided the axle/tires + no harm.Mechanic later said was a bearing that failed + that allowed the whole package to come apart.Don't know why it concerned me at the truck/aerial lift only weighed abot 35K lbs. Wrecker Driver who I knew said "Don't be such a Drama Queen".Just some High Country "Good Ole Boy Humor"

In life there are plenty of WTF's. That is a GD-WTFH!!! But he does have it secured to the front with a gimble arm. Safety first.

So many questions! Why do they have a hitch and stinger? Maybe they have a boat delivery service and this way they can transport two boats????? How much could a new trailer wheel bearing cost....and is it more than the roof rack they fabricated? Do they own a massive excavator? Do the brake lights and turn signals have to function? Could they be THAT BAD AT BACKING UP TRAILERS???? Oh yeah, and the doozie..... what the hell happens when you get to the boat ramp????

When you get to the ramp, back up as fast as you can and slam on the brakes letting the boat slide off gently into the water!

I'd like to hear the story on why that made sense. Only thing I can think of is he had another item he was towing with the hitch, and dropped that one off first.

That is actually a legitimate product. I worked with someone several years ago that had one of those loaders for his truck. He had a 20-ish foot aluminum boat and a 30-ish foot travel trailer he would haul around. The boat loader was pretty impressive how it worked and It allowed him to take his travel trailer and boat in states that didn't allow triple-towing.

Now why you would travel with the boat on the loader when you're not hooked to the travel trailer is anyone's guess, but there it is!
