In an effort to get this thread back on track, I received my estimate to replace the rear section of the hard top which came to $4,703 with tax. I called customer care and they said there is financial assistance available for the repair but they can’t tell me what it would be as everything is case by case and it requires that I bring back the vehicle to the dealer in 7 days.

Anyone else go through this and what was your outcome?
Like they said, it varies case by case based on CLV (customer loyalty value) score.
The higher your score, the more Ford will help with “goodwill” financial assistance.

There’s a lot of different things that go into it, but you’ll have a certain score (up to 100 I think) based on the number of Ford vehicles purchased over time, frequency of service or repairs done at Ford dealerships, overall brand loyalty (returning to Ford for new purchases), potential for future business, etc.

Okay that’s helpful. This is my 5th Ford/Lincoln product and we also currently have a 22 Navigator. All service on all our 5 vehicles at Ford.

Good. Then your CLV score should be pretty high and hopefully they’ll chip in a decent amount towards the repair.

Haven't owned anything other than Fords, Lincolns or Mercurys in 45 years and I never heard of a CLV. I gotta believe my score is up there. Do you know of anyway an average person like myself can find out their score?

I’m not sure how long it’s been around. I really don’t know too much about it since it’s really not my department, I just know it’s the main thing they look at for goodwill repairs.

It’s something only a dealer or Ford employee can look up though because you need FMC login credentials for the website. You could always ask your dealer though.

I just figured it out. You are relying entirely on AI to gather your "facts." Probably cutting and pasting your little gems of gotcha material. You can't backup your "facts" with actual experience. You use AI to make yourself sound knowledgeable. Did AI also teach you about logical fallacy? Why are you so desperate to "win" this argument? Why do you need validation to such a degree? Seek help.
Hmmm, what happened to going and playing with your crayons by yourself?

:crackup::crackup::facepalm:

More fallacy from you. Appeal to expertise. You simply are not right about things because you worked in the discipline. That said, I'm not devoid of relevant experience either. As I mentioned, I've worked in composites and I worked as a Mechanical Engineer with some limited composites experience.

I'm MASSIVELY skeptical of AI but acknowledge it can be a great research tool. Onus is on you to refute any claims I've made, AI supported or not.

Better to use AI, with skepticism, than claim an entire industry hasn't advanced in 80 years due to your own small, narrowly focused personal experience.

Must have been as they came back with me only being responsible for $800 of the $4,700. I gladly accepted that to at least give it a go once and hope it’s a good one for a few years

lol I tried the same thing - why replace the top with the same thing? Just pushing the issue down the road another 3 ish years. Hopefully by then there are even more options.

When I asked my dealer they never even responded
I proposed the same thing and thought it was a win / win. The local dealer asked their rep who said no and Ford has yet to respond at all to the case or letter from December even after numerous calls. Sad business plan and leadership.

Well then me being a ford employee I should automatically have a 100 score. I can tell you this, if I have this issue and they don’t cover nearly all of the replacement, I’ll never give another relative, friend or anyone else for that matter a plan code to buy another ford product. I’ve helped them sell at least 6 new cars and trucks. That will all stop.

Don’t think employment plays a part in CLV score at all. I’ve worked at a Ford dealership for a long time now and even mine isn’t 100 because I’ve only bought one new Ford and one older used one.

I’m not surprised. They don’t care that we recommend new buyers.

My MIC hardtop issues have finally been resolved, at least until the new one fails in a few years. My issue was mostly with my dealership Five Star Ford in Stone Mountain, GA.

I took my 2021 Bronco First Edition to Five Star Ford to have my hard top replaced while still under warranty. After two trips in, they told me Ford denied the replacement. Months later I learned it should have been replaced and the service manager told me they did not actually submit it to Ford due to an employee they had issues with. After almost 2 years, over 15 trips to the dealership, over 50 communications, 3 tops, 4 rear windows, and much heartache, I finally have a Bronco with a good top. Many of the extra phone calls, texts, and emails were due to Five Star Ford not getting back to me. Even after 4 requests the General Manager would not talk to me.

They broke my defrost wires off, tried to replace was a crappy aftermarket one, and tried to save money by having a window shop do it. That was glass 3 and why I now have a fourth rear window.

Ford did offer financial assistance to cover all but $900. The dealership ended up covering everything Ford did not.
