FORscan Fog Light Help
Thanks in advance for any help you’re able to provide.
I have a 2022 Badlands Lux with the modular bumper and I installed some good quality fog lights that I bought from Amazon. I’ve adjusted the values in the two BdyCM modules and the IPC module but can’t get the fog lights to turn on. The fog light indicator will turn on in the gauge cluster, though.
The issue seems to be one of the following, or both:
1. When I try to write the updated values to the BdyCM (As Built) module FORscan gets to 97% then fails with an error that reads “writing blocks failed - incompatible configuration”. I’ve made minimal other changes to the modules and those shouldn’t conflict with the fog lights. Possible just the door close while running honk.
2. Running an error check shows shorts and/or open circuits both for the left and right fog lights. Errors B1147:15 and 1148:15. To wire the lights I replaced the factory plug with a different type. It’s possible that I wired the fog lights backwards when I installed the plugs onto their bare wires, but my understanding is that polarity shouldn’t matter for a simple light and, even so, it seems like they wouldn’t both be reporting shorts.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this or suggestions on where I can chase down an answer? I asked the local dealership if they could turn the feature on with their tools but they couldn’t get rid of me fast enough. My next step is probably to call up a few 4X4 shops and see if any of them have FORscan experience, but I’m a little leery of inviting an unvetted tech to futz around in the computer. Thanks!
