"On June 18, 2026, Ford’s Critical Concern Group (CCRG) opened an investigation to review fire events on 2021-2026 model year (MY) Bronco vehicles to combine existing investigatory workstreams.

During these investigations, the CCRG identified similarities in certain fire events on 2021-2026MY Bronco vehicles in which some customers observed smoke in the air vent and flames from the passenger side of the engine compartment while driving. Further analysis of these incidents revealed evidence that at least some of the fires originated in the passenger side of the engine compartment. CCRG’s investigation identified seven Bronco Raptor fires and eight base Bronco fires that may have started in the passenger side of the engine compartment.

Pretty interesting (thorough? typical?) to recall 560,000 vehicles for 15 known incidents. That is 0.0026%, which one would think is not statistically significant.

I'm assuming it's due to it being fire, and potential loss of life. Imagine if someone passed away after they knew about a possibility.

Yeah, I get it, but still a wild number. Like say it costs $100 parts and labor per vehicle to check off the recall fix (which most vehicles likely will never need). That’s a $56M cost to Ford, which I guess is still cheaper than a few wrongful death lawsuit settlements.

The possible harness in question, located to right of coolant reservoir. On my vehicle, wiring exiting connector to rear are not chafe protected. Mine had wires touching/rubbing on firewall, so I bent wires away, to avoid any contact.

Exactly one year of owning a ford after 40 years of GM, mostly Chevy. What a mistake. Learned my lesson. Never again, obviously. Ford sucks, from top to bottom. They produce cheap crap. One time with GM had a trivial recall in all those years. ONCE. I'm at four or five in one year. Disgraceful incompetent people. Probably goes back to the unions.
