Generally recommended to start with the less viscous one as you will cover more ground, but if that yields little to no effect then you gotta whip out the other one and really show them who’s boss

This is also why I highly recommend a spotter. Preferably someone who you already are familiar with.

My guess is that Ford Tech's will inspect the wiring harness for damage, fix if needed and then use more durable split loom tubing on the affected area of rubbing along with 3M High-Temp Harness Tape to keep the area protected from future rubbing on the area of question. This should fix it just fine.

I checked my whole wiring harness and saw zero rubbing of the wiring or covering both driver and passenger sides. Remember we are talking about a truck that does a lot of off-roading this is not a Maverick or a Honda Ridgeline daily street driver.

Well I have to take min in for a problem I've had since 3 months of recieving for drivers window making allsorts of racquet when it's cracked and hit a bump that my dealer told me throughout all the warranty there was no fix but that it's out they miraculously have fix but now I have to call ford customer service to initiate it since it out of warranty. Guess I'll get that and wait for fix to take in

Back on topic:

After reading the excellent writeup around here on air filters; I was cleaning my air filter and doing Intake cleaner and thought I would peak around the harnesses.

Lo and behold, this spot had worn entirely through the friction tape (can see it a bit in the photo), but had not yet damaged the wiring underneath

Another repair job to do!

While I had my rear bumper off for trailer hitch install, I taped the heck out of all the sensor and other wire bundles I could find. 'have already done a bit in the engine compartment; now it looks like I will be doing a bit more.

Then I can take mine in for the open recalls when this one has parts available in a few months.

And I would not doubt if the MIC top issue alone absorbed and exorbitant amount of their engineering and quality labor capacity trying to get that situation to some "reasonable" point to actually deliver product. Many of these other issues probably slipped through the refinement phase that probably comes with starting up a mass production line.

What a lot of people forget, a lot of us, take our bronco take on rough rock crawling and hard Baja driving, Ford said looks like only effecting 2 percent of the half a million Bronco sold from launch. I wonder how much of the wire rubbing is caused by hard off-road driving? I don't think the rubbing is coming from grandma going to church on Sunday. The media and trolls love to make it look like all Bronco's are going to catch on fire, which I think is false.

You see Brand New Toyota TRD trucks having problems with transmissions with 50 miles, but you barely hear a peep, like they are a god of truck building.

Ford will have the new protective wrap and anti-rubbing tape soon, so don't let the trolls make you think differently. I just hit 23000 miles without a single problem and the engine is running like brand new.

It's weird how Ford gets so much publicity on recalls, when other automakers have just as many problems, but it's all hush hush. Honda v6's have rod bearing failures, absolute turd a/c systems, leaky head gaskets, Kia engines are made of paper mache, Jeep has two potential fire risks.

With all the disruptions to manufacturing, supply chains and labor resulting from shutting down the world economy from 2020 until things started to somewhat recover in 2023 or so, buying a new vehicle from any car maker from that time period, let alone an entirely new model introduction, was a roll of the dice.

That’s why I sat on the sidelines to buying a new Bronco until the 2024 model year. And still had to deal with the Bilstein shock recall, the rear camera recall, and now the wiring harness recall. I think we’re still seeing the repercussions.

I missed out on a 2023 order because my dealer was playing games. Ended up with a 2026 a few months ago and I still got hit with this one lol. Hopefully lower miles buys me time.

People don’t understand covid hit the auto industry hard and I don’t know if they ever recovered. Seems like standards have dropped all over the auto spectrum except supercars and people accept it since we’re used to $5k markups for an already overpriced vehicle that was poorly assembled with questionable materials.
