I guess once you’re in there doing it, might as well do it up. I’ve checked all of mine and they look fine (at 11000 miles), but they do contact frame edges. The Bronc is not the tidiest engine compartment out there.
On the canceled U297 and UP499 Bronco programs, two of the design goals were “ease of modification” and “ease of service” since off-roaders like to modify things and will need to repair things on isolated trails. So a good looking engine bay was definitely not a priority - separation of components for access was. I dunno if that goal held true for our Bronco, but probably did to some degree.

How does it work with Demo`s? If there is a stop sale surely I shouldn't have been able to take the vehicle for a test drive and start the deal if the dealer knew they couldn't legally sell/demo it?
I don’t know, but some dealers may fudge on demoing stop-saled Broncos.
Mine did. I was able to demo a stop-saled Badlands, which was subject at the time to the Bilstein shocks and rear camera recalls.

Apparently, another buyer had put money down on the Badlands but got tired of waiting for the recall fixes and walked away from the deal.

Lucky for me, when I wanted to pull the trigger on that dream Bronco of mine, it took the dealer only a couple of days to get both of those recalls fixed because the shock parts and camera software had just become available, Fall of ‘25.

I should’ve bought a lottery ticket the same day I took possession of my Badlands.

Yeah, after looking at the 'parts' required...all of that is available either already in stocks or can be purchased locally (even the convolute tubing is available all over).

So I've no idea why they would be waiting until September for the bulk of the customers to get this done....unless they want to write off the labor charges in the next quarter? That's been done before. Delaying 'warranty spend'.

I just bought a roll of the Coroplast tape from Amazon for $7 and I already have all of the convolute tubing in the required sizes. Just waiting for a couple of those Wire harness tie strap retainers (I ordered some of those from Amazon as well). So I won't be waiting till September to get mine done.
So if you diy fix will they tear it down and redo to be able to 'clear' the recall?

When I read the steps needed to clear the recall, it requires visual inspection to ensure no wires are abraded. Seems to me that they are exposed to liability if they take a customer's word on their DIY repair. Now, most owner's aren't going to wrap a wire that has been compromised, but they could easily missed it.

I just checked mine and my harness to the RH mirror makes a larger arc away from the metal edge before going under the fluid lines.
Ford Bronco Recall 26S55: 2021-2026 Bronco - Engine Compartment Wiring Harness Repair [July 23, 2026] -- 590,000k units affected IMG_1638

If the issue is abrasion on that edge, i wonder if some builds did not place the cables tie so that there would be enough slack to force the harness to arc away from the edge. 🤷‍♂️

I signed the paperwork for a Stroppe on Saturday, expecting to drive it home…

Walked out of the F&I office, then was told they couldn’t let me leave with it and gave me a loaner.

Gotta love the bait and switch that dealer pulled. No repercussions for the dealership i`m sure.

That's a quick call to the Attorney General to get the deal unwound if they wanted. I think the GM of the dealership would also unwind the deal if they asked.

Agreed , easy to accomplish. My commentary is moreso directed at how they are bold enough to do this in the first place. In my view that means the potential consequences are not significant enough to deter them.

They offered to unwind it or write me a check for the payments until I get it. They were cool about it. I was just bummed I couldn’t take it home. They were also under the assumption that the fix was going to be announced yesterday.

Gave mine a quick look. Wiring near the hinges is clear and not taunt. What i can see under the overflow looks fine.

I was asking myself the same question. I have a deposit down on a 2025 base Sas up for 43.8. I thought about pushing back given the recall but the closest Bronco I can find with lockers, in a color I like (red or blue), at a remotely similar price is 992 miles away. And I still have to wait a month.

So the question you might want to consider is whether you are willing to walk away over the 4-6 weeks for the money.
