On the canceled U297 and UP499 Bronco programs, two of the design goals were “ease of modification” and “ease of service” since off-roaders like to modify things and will need to repair things on isolated trails. So a good looking engine bay was definitely not a priority - separation of components for access was. I dunno if that goal held true for our Bronco, but probably did to some degree.I guess once you’re in there doing it, might as well do it up. I’ve checked all of mine and they look fine (at 11000 miles), but they do contact frame edges. The Bronc is not the tidiest engine compartment out there.
