Hello and Thank You for your help. I have these wheels currently on our bronco and I would like a little help understanding them please…….. (I have had Bead lock wheels twice before on my vehicles) 1) I understand I have to purchase separately the actual bead lock ring which goes anywhere from $350-$1000 a set. From Amazon stuff to the real McCoy from Ford. 2) so the rings on there right now, would you call them just beauty rings? 3) Do the “”beauty rings”” need to be removed before changing out the tires? 4) Not interested in putting the real bead lock rings on currently. Thank you for the info and or education. Party On!

Yea, "Beauty Rings". I've seen it claimed that they don't need to come off to install/uninstall tires, but both shops I've been to declined to work on them without taking the beauty rings off first. (CA)

Can I assume that you just simply removed the rings at home and then took them to the shop for mounting?

Yes, many do, just be careful breaking them free as they are reported to strip out easy. Seems like it is a TP 40 or 45.

I got some of these to replace stock nonSAS wheels, greatly reducing my build credibility.

No power tools and take your time with the rings. All will be good. I have not converted them to beadlocks yet but will at some point. @SierraBronco runs them as beadlocks and has had good success. Regardless of the build shaming.

Yep! The heads aren't very deep so I use a torque wrench and take my time but have still lost probably 2 or 3 during my stainless to painted beauty ring swap.

If you remove the rings before you go to tire shop for new tires + put them back on after new tire install do you have to go back to have them balanced?

i had my rings balanced originally….. why would I need to rebalance them again? That’s like breaking another tooth to get more money from the tooth fairy…… Exact same principal you see.
