I wistfully looked up my Bronco’s location on the app just to see it parked in the same spot at the dealer where it’s been for the last nine days since it failed the recall inspection.

The inner ball joints have premature failure. Especially when offroading frequently.

Man that is pretty disappointing.

I'll find out exactly what went wrong when I go pick it up at the shop. They were installed early '24. Bronco spends most of it's time in the garage at home. Dealership noticed during a scheduled oil change and install shop verified. It did see a long day of serious off-roading two weeks ago here in Michigan. Other trail times were fairly mild.

That is absolutely mind blowing that they are that poor quality. Again RC has never been known for high quality but this sounds like a whole new level of low.

At least you have one. I bought a 2025 leftover and it is still sitting at the dealer on no sale hold. But at least they stepped up and gave me a 2026 OBX with SAS option till it is fixed which is now looking like the end of September. And the pile of accessories is piling up in the family room awaiting it's arrival sometime in the future.......

Well, my Wolfbox lasted less than 24 hours before the display went blank mid-drive... tried unplugging it, re-starting the car, etc. Nothing. Went back out to my garage to see if I could get it working again and the %#$&* thing is hot to the touch.

After spending hours in the heat tearing out interior panels and routing cable I'm beyond pissed.

Since Ford did away with Homelink, I ordered and installed a Tailwind garage door opener system. I have Chamberlain openers and their smart home integration is garbage. The Tailwind platform allows me to use it with HomeKit so auto open/close when I arrive/leave and just general ease of use. CarPlay integration is nice too. Impressed so far.

Another minor upgrade. Had some issues and not very pleased with the bolt lengths. Some parts were bent and need more washers.

This was a couple of weekends ago. Spent a couple of nights at Campo Alto Campground in Los Padres National Forest. Really nice, high(ish) altitude campground that let us get away from the SoCal heat. Campsites are well spread out, so pretty good privacy.

No offroading this time, but did get to test the 12v fridge, Bluetti and solar panel setup for the first time (worked well). And our tents had a visit from some very curious deer both nights - which I suppose is better than a visit from a bear...

P.S. Bonus points to anyone who can figure out the ethnic specialty in the last picture.
