This says a lot about today's media environment. One of these is real news one is fake news. One is from Ford Motor Company, one is from a dealer, . One is from @Ducati1098 who, according to my research has been 99.98% accurate with his postings, and one is from someone with the username 'Banned". As they say "Do your research"

Yeah I mean I certainly don't know everything, but it's kind of hard to refute information directly from the manufacture themselves in cases like this

Got the recall for my newly purchased Raptor. Wiring harness, can’t even take delivery, on day 3, because the parts just now arrived. My Braptor is the Guinea pig as it is the first to receive the fix. Absolutely livid! At least the actual tech gave me some insight on the process. Hopefully I can get my rig today. I won’t hold my breath.

That is frustrating. Although I have heard that this only affects 1% of vehicles.

Earlier in this thread I was wrong about the build dates because I didn't realize it took pre-production vehicles into account.

lol , yes it’s from my service department… I would push your chitt elsewhere. My relationship with them is over four decades.

The remedy is to cover, add support and tape. The only question is what wire bundles… and the Braptor shows the areas. My Badlands just has fewer wire looms than a BR.

I understand that. What I meant was Ford estimates that only about 1% of all the Broncos recalled have the physical defect.

Probably less than that. There have been only 15 reported incidents. But I think we can all agree it’s a bad problem to have, if you have it.

Thanks. I still feel that estimate is premature, given that the surface (actual evaluation) has only just begun to be scratched.

I've previously stated that I feel that the wiring harnesses in my engine compartment look very good (my truck is 11 months old and has 8,500 miles).

However, if Ford is poking back all the way to 2021 ... and they think only ~6,000 vehicles may be affected out of the total number built/delivered ... let's conservatively estimate that due to loss (e.g., accidents, theft, fire, flood, etc.), or owners never bothering to bring their trucks in for evaluation ... and if the total number of trucks actually seen and evaluated (again, conservatively estimated) is only 40% of the total potentially affected pool of vehicles ... I would gander that through age (wear & tear) alone that more than 1% could require repairs other than cosmetic that actually could have led to the theoretical fire issue.

There are 3 kinds of lies: regular lies; damned lies; and statistics.

You can't measure what you never see, so let's hope that Ford isn't prematurely judging a desired outcome based on a skewed or assumed sample size.

Bottom line, I fully understand that this is Ford's or the industry estimate going in; however, I'm just postulating that the number of trucks actually affected *could* exceed 1% of whatever sample size is actually evaluated, when all is said and done.
