In a four-door configuration, you're surely right! But how about a two-door? Which figures to roughly is the same size as a (proper) vintage 1967 Ford Ranger, Chevy C10, etc? I think it would be huge seller! And for sure it would be a looker. Put in the V8 Coyote and the 5-speed manual, and I'd be on it like Oprah on a rib roast.

My sister in law had an early single cab, stock height, hemi 4x4 ram shortbed.
Dumbass nephew let her trade it in.
We are both deeply ashamed of letting that little old lady, low mile grocery-getter rarity go away.

Who the hell wants a 4 door Mustang.
Nobody. Another waste of time, money and effort.........alike Filson, RTR, Freewheeling appearance packages and endless Bill Stroppe editions.

A Bronco pick up would cut into Ranger sales not the F150.
I don't think Ranger sales would be terribly affected. A Ranger can tow 7,500lb. However a Bronco only 3,500lb, due to the desire for enhanced articulation facilitated with soft coil springs. Surely the Bronco pickup will retain the rear coil spring suspension.

Filson is very goofy.
The stroppe cost ford ZERO to make, isnt endless and is EXTREMELY goofy.

While we're telling of goofy fords:
I was in the car business in the long ago and I vividly remember an early explorer that was a forza or a forenza limited thing like the filson is supposed to be.

Also, for car guys;
A gm/opel forenza had a 302dz on it.

Thats not a Sport. Its a Sport Trac. And yes true, not enough sales to support either of them. I do believe a Bronco Gladiator would sell, especially with all the hype of the Bronco. No on 4 door Mustang. "Mustang" Mach E should never have had the name Mustang in it.. Maybe they could name 4 door Mustang, the Ford Mustang III Probe GT... Who at Ford comes up with these names (Escape, Taurus, Pinto, Aspire, Freestyle etc...)

Now this is a 31 year old Sport:

I had the Mazda version with a 5 speed. Lived that little rig. Until the MN cancer took over...☹

They said the same thing about a four door Porsche. If Ford uses the Mustang platform adds two more doors and calls it the Torino, or Fairlane they would sell. Dodge does this with the Charger.
The stories I've read is that Ford trademarked the Mach-4 name.

I've owned four Mustangs throughout my life, and I'm less bothered by creating a 4-door Mustang, than I was when they named an electric SUV a Mustang. They should've just left the name as Mach-E.

Now, I know there has never been a 4-door Mustang, but I get marketing a 4-door performance vehicle for the family where they can only afford one car. Other brands have done it, Cadillac with their V-Series and BMW with their M-Series, among many more.

It may feel sacrilegious, but it's less so than the "Mustang Mach-E".

There's never been a production 4 door mustang. They certainly intended to. At this point, adding 4 doors to the Mustang is no more blasphemous than adding 4 doors to the Bronco. A 4 door Mustang while vile imo, is better than the Mach-E. At least a 4 door will be on the same platform, with the same styling cues.

I agree. Really liked the looks of our Gladiator, the bed, though small, was handy. But it didn’t replace my tow vehicle. I have not seen an artist rendition of a Bronco pickup that looks good, in my opinion. The jeep is a utilitarian looking vehicle that lends itself better to a pickup bed.
Agree that most renditions I’ve seen aren’t good. Here’s the best that I’ve seen.

Not what people want to hear, but if it has a bigger back seat area compared to the ranger I could see it selling well.
Most mid size pickups have a back seat sized for luggage not people. I have friends with Tacomas and Rangers, the back seat is painful to be in. No leg room at all.
We may see lots of posts about people wanting a single cab but few single cab f150 or super dutys sell. I think a single cab would be cool, and I did buy a two door bronco but I know most people don't make that choice. The one hope for a Bronco single cab is if Jeep makes a single cab pickup.

I do hope for 2 bed lengths. Toyota does that so do others.

In my opinion Ford should spend more time perfecting current line up than coming out with more sub models. Sales would really increase if Ford was known for extreme quality instead of so many short cuts, cheap materials and recalls. Love our 3 Fords. But there are some things needing improvement. Which probably makes owners jump ship next purchase.
