I made that mistake once, took off down a dry dusty gravel road with no top....
You just want to make sure you’re the head of the pack with the roof off. But even then I’ve had to stop up and got blowback and a face full of dirt. What it sacrifices in rear cargo space it redeems as a pretty great bird-watching seat, complete with its perfectly-sized storage cubby for binoculars in back.

Wife’s 2026 Badlands. She had it wrapped with her own design seen here. Has IAG steps, RC lights with DRL on the DV8 bull bar and several other convenient add ons. Ran over something in rural Mississippi on the way back from trail riding. Hauler Jack for the win!
On Friday I drove Old Coast Rd that starts behind Bixby bridge in Big Sur. Nothing technical but it has great views up in the hills, some redwoods and some narrow bridges. Very cool where the marine layer was still crawling over the hills but more dry & dusty later.
