It's called an "Amp Hound". They are a little pricey, but if your time is worth anything this is well worth the price!
Say this is a used vehicle? Check EVERYTHING! Look for leaks, torn boots, loose bolts, loose suspension and steering components, worn brake components. Check all fluid levels, filters (engine air, cabin air) and anything else you can think of.
The factory antenna is a 1/4 wave at about 100 MHz. That's about as efficient as you can get without some sort of active amplification. Anything shorter is not resonant, even though it will work.
Interesting... That makes perfect sense! I will add one more comment:
It may help to understand the job of the "smart shunt" sensor that connects to the negative battery post. It sends a lot of info to the ECU so the regulated voltage is always optimum. This includes the exact temperature of...
Also remember that the state of the battery charge will also be a factor in the voltage output of the regulator. State of charge and ambient temperature are both important to maintain top charge and not overcharge. 13.6 to 13.9 is the PERFECT float voltage for a battery system that is near...
Remember that the colder it is, the higher the voltage needs to be to achieve a full charge on the battery. All modern auto voltage regulators take this into account. If it was 80°, that 15 volts would overcharge the battery. At 0°, the battery may need more than 15v. to fully charge.
@Dubby I have the soft top that came with the dual top option on my '24 Wildtrak. It is in new, unused condition. It is still strapped on the factory styrofoam "pallet" with the original unopened box of hardware. I took cardboard and boxed in the corners, top and sides for a little extra...
@NCCarguy I mentioned in an earlier post how smooth my '24 Wildtrak was and that yours should be similar. I ordered mine and took delivery about 2 weeks after it was assembled, so there was no time for the tires to get flat spots. You may be onto the real cause of your vibration... Good Luck!
@redone17 Starting with the positive at the battery it is going through a short, heavy gauge wire to a 5 amp fuse, then on the the tilt switch, then on to the lighting harness.
The Black ground is attached to the chassis somehow. If you use a factory ground point consider doing this. Put a...
I thought I would include @Ducati1098 in this discussion, since you are now looking at the Torque Converter. I think he is a Tranny Tech at a dealership. I wonder if he has ever encountered vibrations like this from a bad TC?
I have always been surprised at how smooth my '24 Wildtrak is. Before I took delivery I had read all kinds of stories about how some ride rough or have lots of road noise. I just had my first rotation at 10k. Same good ride as before. Your WT should be SMOOTH at all speeds... Mine is!
If...
