  1. Jeep cancels all 4xe plug-in hybrid models

It’s a bummer that Stellantis couldn’t figure out how to build a reliable PHEV like Toyota has been doing for years. Glad to hear they’re moving to a range extender EV version. When I had a PHEV BMW, it was sooooo much cheaper to refuel with electricity even though it only had ~20 miles of all...
  2. Trans Taiga Road Trip Documentary: A Journey to the End of North America's Most Remote Road

Since there are no grizzly bears in that region, I’d only be worried about my food, not personal safety
  3. 6G Bronco Refresh Preview - Hybrid, Specs, Updates, Options (from market survey)

That’s a nice option while infrastructure catches up, but I plan to go full EV for the simplicity and performance
  4. 6G Bronco Refresh Preview - Hybrid, Specs, Updates, Options (from market survey)

That’s the best part about the Scout
  5. 6G Bronco Refresh Preview - Hybrid, Specs, Updates, Options (from market survey)

You don’t need to charge. You can’t charge a regular hybrid and you can drive a PHEV for 100,000 miles without plugging it in. The ability to charge the latter is just upside if you don’t like wasting money on gas
  6. 6G Bronco Refresh Preview - Hybrid, Specs, Updates, Options (from market survey)

I’d go for the hybrid if it’s PHEV, for sure. Then it’s basically an EV for ~6 days a week
  7. Found this green dot sticker in cargo area of my Bronco

It tells you when you'll die, but it can be difficult to decode
  8. Make My V8 Bronco Raptor, Ford!!! Things Done Changed!

Which would be something like 30 cents if you consider the purchase price
  9. Make My V8 Bronco Raptor, Ford!!! Things Done Changed!

Ah, I thought you were talking about the present, where hybrid Honda CR-Vs are sold next to ICE Honda CR-Vs, and we're on a forum where Broncos get 20 mpg on a good day and the only battery aboard is used to start the ICE engine. But yes, in the year 2032 CAFE standards briefly tried to...
  10. Make My V8 Bronco Raptor, Ford!!! Things Done Changed!

They aren't pushed on people any more than a carton of almond milk is pushing people away from dairy. It's just an alternative option that exists today. Your daughter should be pleased to know that the weight difference is negligible, Honda dealers are fully capable of fixing them and have done...
  11. Make My V8 Bronco Raptor, Ford!!! Things Done Changed!

The 392 wheels just fine, as evidenced by the number of videos of it conquering Moab and elsewhere. Yes, I've seen at least 2 anecdotes of fuel pump issues on an incline, but I've seen more anecdotes of early Broncos needing a new engine. It doesn't sell well because it's a $100K toy and there...
  12. Make My V8 Bronco Raptor, Ford!!! Things Done Changed!

Ford can just look to to Jeep to see how this movie ends. Folks wanted Jeep to slap a big engine in the Wrangler, so Jeep built the 392 and it made about 2.5% of Wrangler production and is being phased out. Same for the diesel, which they canned in 2023. Meanwhile, the 4xe PHEV is the best...
  13. Parking garage height - how much does everyone trust the signs?

Last year I got trapped downtown when they closed the street I was parked on with barriers so they could prep for some construction. A worker said “oh, just drive through that hotel parking over there.” My antenna grazed the warning sign and I weaved around fire sprinkler heads like I was...
  14. No EV Bronco anytime soon?

A V8 with a carburetor and a hand crank starter!
  15. No EV Bronco anytime soon?

I did the same. If Ford isn't up to the task, others can fill the need, and right now Rivian and Scout are in the driver's seat when it comes to off-road capable EVs. The question is pure EV or EV with a range extender, and Scout plans to offer both. Having way more torque and HP than a V8 is...
  16. Spied: 2025 Jeep Recon EV w/ Removable Doors [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Props to Jeep for getting a clean sheet EV to market ahead of their peers (not including direct to consumer manufacturers like Rivian, Tesla, etc). If Ford starts taking reservations for an EV Bronco, I'll be a Day 1 reservation holder like I was for the ICE version.
  17. Ford Bronco now makes up more than 25% of segment market share

When International Harvester ran into financial trouble in the 80’s, they reorganized as Navistar (big trucks and engines). Volkswagen’s commercial truck division merged with them a couple years ago, so VW got the name rights. I suppose they could do a Terra pickup, a long wheel base Traveler...
  18. Aftermarket Wireless Charging Pad Upgrade Options?

To avoid the overheating, seems like you'd need something that keeps the phone positioned more precisely within the charging bed (e.g a iPhone magsafe magnetic ring)
  19. Nothing to see here, move along

I did see an add on my Facebook feed for these prank things that you hide in somebody’s house or office that sounds like a random smoke detector or a cricket
  20. Nothing to see here, move along

It's not the headlight knob accidentally bumped off of the Auto setting? That threw me for a loop a few times
