  1. Fun & Relatable

I had it on a forest service road the very next day. Nothing hardcore, but it did get dirty.
  2. Like 87 octane better (2.7)

I have a Wildtrak with the 2.7. I'm thinking that what you call "twitchy", others might call "responsive" :). I will sometimes run 87 myself, and see nothing wrong with it. But, there's definitely a little more power to be had on 93.
  3. Comparison: 2.3L Ecoboost vs the Legendary 271HP 289

Yup, I had the 3 speed manual as well, 2nd gear would almost hit 80mph. Useful when drag racing against 5 speed. Mine was unfortunately totaled in an accident. It was like a death in the family.
  4. Comparison: 2.3L Ecoboost vs the Legendary 271HP 289

True enough, but with either comparison, the result is similar; modern cars are quicker.
  5. Comparison: 2.3L Ecoboost vs the Legendary 271HP 289

You're quite right. Modern cars are porky as hell in comparison.
  6. Comparison: 2.3L Ecoboost vs the Legendary 271HP 289

I had a 289 Mustang as my first car. Great motor. Loved that car. Not too surprising that the 289 is outpowered by a modern 4 banger though. The 60's muscle & Pony cars were great performers for their times. They continued to compare favorably with other eras for decades too, but...
  7. 2024 Wildtrak. Seems like a good deal?

Bought mine in '24 for 68K. I'd say go for it. Once you go WTrak, you never go back! I would recommend to crawl underneath it and check the drive shaft boots, and CV boots for leaks. I had both on 2 separate Broncos. Other than that, it's been great. You'll notice a big power jump coming...
  8. Bronco vs. F150

I went from an F150 to the Bronco. Two different types of vehicles that don't compare very well, but I get it. By every practical metric, it's not even close, F-150 (or nearly any full size pick up) wins hands down. It'll haul and tow everything you need. It's more spacious(in super crew...
  9. Bronco v. Wrangler v. 4Runner rock crawling off road comparison (TFL Off-Road - YouTube)

I think you've hit the nail on the head about the trail control. I think they've misunderstood how Ford means it to used. I've had it on a couple trucks, as well as the Bronco, and it works great as a descent control. But you don't get any special traction control with it to manage wheel...
  10. Bronco v. Wrangler v. 4Runner rock crawling off road comparison (TFL Off-Road - YouTube)

Agree, I think TFL generally does a great job, and I enjoy their videos more than most other off road/truck youtube reviewers. They may make some mistakes in the heat of the moment, but who doesn't? In this video, they admitted upfront that the comparison wasn't apples to apples. Also, if...
  11. Driver Side Window Exploded

I'd suspect perhaps the temp differential stressing the glass. Gets really hot sitting in the heat, then AC cools fast from the inside once you start driving. We get hot too, down in GA, but not 110.
  12. What did you drive before your Bronco?

Just a few vehicles before this Bronco (leaving out a few of the less fun ones, and motorcycles): >1965 mustang Coupe, 289 4V (First Car) >2000 Mustang GT >2003 Mazda 3 >2012 Mustang GT (Fav Mustang apart from the 65) >1996 Ford Bronco (Fav Truck..in avatar) >2015 Mustang GT >2017 Charger...
  13. Ford/SYNC Navigation subscription question 🧭

I have a 24 Wildtrak, with built in Nav, and it seems my services expired after only a year? Also once they expired, even the basic GPS routing does not work. I had assumed it would be like Garmin once this happens: Still routes, just can't consider traffic patterns or access weather. This...
  14. Noob Owner, 4 Dumb Questions

One plus to having the sasquatch is that I can slide right under the Bronco with no Jack needed. Just make sure the handbrake is engaged, and maybe chock the tires to be safe.
  15. Noob Owner, 4 Dumb Questions

Though there are other ways of achieving the same effects, washing a vehicle can have practical benefits. Mostly just because it gives you a chance to have a close up look at the whole vehicle. I've found dents and scratches to touch up, nails in tires to fix, alignment issues etc. I usually...
  16. I’m so frustrated!

Black Wildtrak with leather interior here. Not shy about getting it dirty. It hauls dogs, pulls travel baseball duty, Fishing trips, camping, and light off roading trips. But it usually looks like it never leaves pavement. I don't use any ceramics or protective wraps either. Just elbow...
  17. Is it just me or is the factory jack garbage?

Had to use my jack (24 Wildrak) recently. As others have said, it works just fine. It is pretty cheaptastic though, and I was glad I didn't need to get under the vehicle (wouldn't do that without Jack stands). I really didn't like the little extension piece; guessing this was just a cheap way...
  18. Dyno run - 2.7L completed

Well, you did refer to it as " shit low octane gas". It is low octane, but there's nothing inherently "shitty" about it.
  19. Dyno run - 2.7L completed

While there's no doubt running 93 Octane makes more power (about 15hp according to Ford's specs on the 2.7), there's nothing wrong with 87 Octane as long as it's from a reputable supplier. The manual indicates as much. The computer adjusts for it and it doesn't do any damage to the vehicle...
  20. Admit it, your rig is a "mall crawler"...

Most people would swear my rig never goes off road. It Actually does a couple times per month, I just clean it up really well afterwards! I keep it pretty light though. Mostly gravel and forest roads to access fishing spots in the mountains, and hikes with the fam&Dogs. I'll also do...
