I just had the same experience on my ā22 base. Picked up an H7 and I was very confused until finding this thread, haha. I bent the retaining plate too, and am contemplating just buying the part sans retaining end + the bigger blanket⦠because OCD I guess. New batt seemed to do the trick of...
Itās great to see that setup! Iām going for the same on my 2 door. Had to tap the hole for the ball, but luckily itās the perfect size for an m10x1.5. Currently waiting on my āfreeā mini to arrive. Iām not 100% sure I will be able to orient the dishy quite as nicely, but we shall see.

ā22, 30k mi, no cracks. It lives in a garage so the top doesnāt get tons of sun and weather.
it sees wide temperature swings in the winter, sometimes Iāll take it out and the top will go from 60F garage temp to -45F Alaska / Hoth.
Oh hey, I actually designed one of these and use it⦠just never shared with anyone 𤣠if I remember after work I will come back and upload it to
Thingiverse and paste a link. edit: link ---- https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7111570
It looks like this:
It took a few tries to make something...
For a fun / casual vehicle I think base is a good approach too. I like my 7MT but really only chill with other folks driving it who have owned and casually driven manuals. Thatās a personal hang up of mine, but if you can see yourself feeling similar and you plan on sharing a lot, then it seems...
Iām personally not a fan of the frameless windows in my 2 door. They do add to the look and, I suppose, if I had any intentions of removing my doors, no frames might add to convenience. Iām pretty happy with the rest of my base/2dr/7mt after 3 years of ownership.
Some of the drawbacks Iāve had...
I appreciate very much that you rescued that greyhound. Not sure what Iād do
If mine got out and was lost like that, but itās my worst nightmare. Awesome going, man! Cheers š»
Thank you š the illustrations sure make things clear. Makes me want to buy the 3 day license just to see what other good stuff is in there!
No idea why I was so far below the line - I squished in two quart bags, then added a decent sized squeeze extra from a 3rd bag to account for the extra...
Hey @CarbonSteel thanks for posting all this stuff. The thread + reference spreadsheets + vids have been incredibly useful.
Iāve got one question, sorry if itās been asked a dozen times. Search function failed me, or I failed it.
I put more than 65oz in the rear diff (non locking). Probably...
+1 on waiting for the panel update! I've been thinking of rigging up some sort of DIY solar horror show to my roof rack that would plausibly withstand 70+mph winds without decapitating unwary bystanders. From what I'm seeing here, I feel like @cr117 might rig up something clever.
Cool battery...
Hullo! So Iām did the same thing with the TPMS disable and re-enable. Mine donāt work now either, although it was over a year since I last used the set with TPMS in āem. Did you ever figure out how to get yours working again? Thanks!
Edit: sorry to bug you - I did some light searching and found...
Hi All, sorry if this TPMS question has been answered half a dozen times already and I'm just not savvy enough with the search function.... here goes...
Backstory:
I own a base and upgraded my wheels / tires some time ago. I think it was the Fall of 2022 the last time I ran with 'em. I...
Thank you! Well, I can say it's at least a fun thing to dabble into - if you end up picking one up, I hope that you and your son have a good time time with it!
I've enjoyed trying to find ways to use it as a tool to solve problems, plus it's a great excuse to learn how to use CAD tools. It's...
I'm pretty blown away by it too. It seems like only a few years ago this was very hobbyist and you'd have a laundry list of things to do to get a good print for "enthusiast" level printers. It's amazing how cheap things have gotten, and how much the out-of-the-box experience has changed.
Hey All, I made a thing and figured I'd share. I wanted to use some of my Yeti mugs in my bronc, but they wouldn't fit in the 7MT cup holders. I got tired of spilling coffee everywhere when they would inevitably fall over, so I designed and printed an adapter. I probably could have gone out and...
Mine has generally done fine in high winds. The one exception to that was when I was driving through central WA which has fast highway and very strong consistent wind. Vantage, WA area / wind farm territory⦠predictably very windy.
Doing 70mph with an unknown headwind (30? 40?) it would somehow...
