The winch is 12k Badland Apex. When first installed I did have to cut a small notch in the lower grill frame. Less than inch. But after adding a 1" body lift even that wasn't needed.

Or a bluetooth reader connected to an app on your phone. Even if you leave the laptop home you can always pull the codes and google them (assuming service available)
These days, I think an OBD scanner is pretty much a required tool that every car/truck owner should have. They are not expensive and even if you don't plan on doing your own repairs - they are invaluable as a diagnostic aid.

What I do is run a sunscreen year around under my hard top. With top off in summer, it performs its usual function of preventing sunburns. But with top on in winter it performs additional functions.....
I stuff a queen sized comforter (black) on top of it between sunscreen and hard top...
