Update: Noise has returned. Ford rebuilt my transmission (new synchros) under warranty almost 2 years ago. I thought the noise was gone, but today the noise returned (over 10k miles later). I'm literally 4 days past my 3 year bumper to bumper warranty, and I have little hope that they will (or...
"Consumer demand for increasingly electronic and feature-heavy vehicles"
I disagree that is it consumer driven at all. Feature bloat is the result of middle-managers carving out a space for themselves at the company. Managers constantly push features that increase production costs and grow...
2022 with 18k miles. Front driver panel replaced for excessive cracks. I see a few wavy lines starting to form on the hardtop... barely visible. They don't bother me yet because I really have to focus my eyes to find the lines. It does seem to be affected by temperature. Not bad enough to warranty.
Ya, I’m not a huge fan of the exterior cage look. A hidden interior bracket would be my ideal choice. Still don’t see anything like that on the market.
Edit: Gobi is great if you need it. I would imagine road noise/fuel economy could be worse though, especially with all those extra supports .
FWIW, I paid for oil analysis by Blackstone labs at odometer 2000 miles (factory oil) and odometer 6000 miles (kirkland fully synthetic oil). 2.3L engine.
They told me nothing was out of ordinary in terms of engine wear and that the copper contamination indicated engine break in. They also...
Phase 2 complete: Installed a 10in 500watt rms subwoofer in a sealed .67cubic box. The subwoofer made the biggest difference by far! The sub allowed me to turn down EQ base on the head unit. All other speakers seem to play much cleaner and clearer now, since they do not need to be turned up so...
Just finished the install. Thanks for suggestions . No drilling. Very easy. I ran the 1/0 wire across the front of the engine along top of the radiator fans, down behind the coolant reservoir, down the passenger wheelwell, then along the frame, and up through the “passive” drain hole right next...
Thanks! That actually looks pretty simple. Do you have a pic from under hood where you went down the quarter panel? I’m going to give this a shot. It looks like you used one of the passive drain holes not the main drain hole? Does the plastic piece pop out easily?
Alright, I ordered a drill bit and grommet. Can anyone recommend an exact spot I should drill? Would be great to get practical advice or pics from someone who has actually done this before. Thanks
My Bronco is a manual, so it does not have the easy grommet/port on the firewall. It’s used by the clutch. The main wiring harness has a grommet nipple but it is only 1/4in wide… How can I run over 1/2in thick 1/0 gauge wire through the firewall? Anyone have suggestions? Or ideas? Can I go under...
Maximus-3 is the only bracket that has "2 bends". This creates a triangle against the frame horn. This should theoretically improve reinforcement in left and right pulls, more than other brands. Even though it doesn't have gussets, I bet it is stronger than LOD/ADD.
Has anyone ordered/tried...
