  1. Washington WTB - OEM Steel Bash/Skid Plates

I have some used ones, with clear trail rash on them, but still very much functional. I'm in Oregon, about an hour south of Portland, are you interested and is that close enough?
  2. Need a solution for high-temp air hose fittings with onboard arb in engine bay

Seems like a good idea to have the hood open when the compressor is running, to at least try to cool out down some. That's why I haven't run the connector outside of the engine bay. But I've been plugging the handheld valve and pressure gage directly into the quick connect, and it's getting too...
  3. Hi all

alright - I have gone through and done an EQ for a single speaker, measuring in REW and creating some filters that it predicts should get the measured curve close to the target curve, then entering those into the mObridge software. Then I re-measured, and... it doesn't look much different. Even...
  4. Hi all

@eduard4us how did you get your mac streaming into your Bronco? Was it just Bluetooth? I found the sound to be very choppy for some reason when connecting via bluetooth, so I have been using the USB stick. I have been going through Socket's excellent REW tutorial, specifically looking for the...
  5. DSP tuning

ok! I've got my MoBridge installed, REW and an Umik-1 all set up. I measured and set the delays, leveled SPL on each speaker, and set appropriate crossover frequencies for my setup. Now I'm doing RTA measurements. Sanity check: Is the tuning process really just measure, look at the curve and see...
  6. B&O Audio system "Scientific" incremental upgrade - what really improved things

Ok everyone... After living with it for a while, I started to realize it really seemed boomy at the low end, and was missing the mid-bass. I took some measurements with Room Equalization Wizard (REW), and despite being a rookie, could see that hole clearly. I'm guessing the amplifier doesn't...
  7. Hi all

@mObridge @eduard4us Thanks for the info, I'll follow those threads! Here's a report on current progress: 1) Install and wire up system, turn it on hurrah! It works! sounds do much better! crank it up! 2) why is it sounding really distorted and weird? uh oh 3) debug: I have burned out my three...
  8. Hi all

Awesome. Thank you. That unblocked me. I'm actively working on tuning it up this weekend, so if you started a thread on tuning up a MoBridge amp, I'd ask questions and report on my results, and that could be useful for others!
  9. Hi all

The REW program generates test tones and frequency sweeps and pink noise, then records using a calibrated microphone. That software is on my laptop. How do I get the test sounds from the laptop to the car audio? At high enough quality for analysis? Bluetooth seems to be choppy or something.
  10. Hi all

Hi All, I could use some help from the wisdom of the internet. I've just installed my MoBridge amp, as well as replacing all of the speakers with JL Audio C2-series speakers, and a new Alpine subwoofer that's a drop-in replacement for the factory subwoofer. I'd like to measure speakers using...
  11. DSP tuning

This may be a dumb question, but... How do you connect the laptop audio to the car speakers??? I just bought an Umik-1 mic and set it up with REW, and want to measure the EQ of the existing system before I upgrade. But I cannot figure out how to get the laptop to connect to the car speakers. The...
  12. B&O Audio system "Scientific" incremental upgrade - what really improved things

update: after living with this system for a while, I do think replacing the B&O amp with an aftermarket A2B and amp will improve sound, because the EQ is set for the factory speakers, and can’t be changed. As it is now with new speakers, it’s much more clear, but seems uneven in frequency. Like...
  13. 75th anniversary Warn 8274 Winch installed on my 2 Door Bronco

I've finally finished my winch rebuild and mount - I used a Warn Universal Winch Mount from TMR Customs (https://www.tmrcustoms.com/products/warn-8274-universal-winch-mount) and had that welded to an IAG I-Line Heavy Duty Winch mount. Then I had it powder coated. I'm not thrilled about the...
  14. GMRS to Car Stereo?

What about a phone app? If there were such a thing, it could connect to the car via Android Auto.
  15. B&O Audio system "Scientific" incremental upgrade - what really improved things

Same physical size, much higher power handling - 300w RMS, 900w peak if I remember correctly. Actually the same power as the jl stealth box, though the factory enclosure and the Alpine subwoofer I used are 8", while the jl stealth box is 10". I used the alpine because it's a dual 4ohm coil...
  16. B&O Audio system "Scientific" incremental upgrade - what really improved things

The stealth box is $1100! My entire upgrade cost less than that. Also, the factory box is obviously highly engineered to use the existing space and include a port. I guessed that it's as good as anything that could fit in there, and as far as I can tell, it is. The stealth box is just an...
  17. B&O Audio system "Scientific" incremental upgrade - what really improved things

Yeah, I actually asked them about that - they said that if the tolerance in the measurements are close enough that there's a chance the grill will touch the speaker, they list it as not fitting. The jl c2's have a little plastic bar over the tweeters, so if they did touch the grill it's probably...
  18. B&O Audio system "Scientific" incremental upgrade - what really improved things

The signal just comes from the factory subwoofer speaker line, the kicker amp is ok with speaker-level inputs. The power is an 8 gage cable I ran along the rest of the wires all the way to the battery. There's even a rubber grommet filling a hole in the firewall near the steering column that's...
  19. B&O Audio system "Scientific" incremental upgrade - what really improved things

I did put some thick and narrow foam tape on the kick panel speakers, but I don't know if it makes a difference.I didn't do it anywhere else. Same with Kilmat - that's to keep the panels from reverberating so much, but it can only do so much. I think those things are the last 3%, and new...
