As the OP, I posted about the issue, had it happen a handful of times, then haven't had it again in two years. Because of that, I can't exactly take it in to the dealer and say "this issue I'm not experiencing... can you look at it?".
Dealer said the battery had 80% life and does not fall under warranty replacement. Door handle did not work even after a drive to the auto parts store [for a new battery]. Replaced the battery, idled for a few min, and now the tailgate handle works. Old battery metered 12.5V shortly after...
Same problem here. Accompanied by sporadic FordPass notifications that my remote features have been disabled. Three years seems too early for a bad battery but I will have the dealer inspect tomorrow.
Just got my Bronco back from the dealership earlier this week for window rattling and snagging. They said the window rattling and snagging are both related to a mechanical fix that is to be released 3Q2025 (SSM 51694). I look forward to the window rattling fix, but it is a byproduct of the...
Sadly, the sound came back this Saturday. The "fix" from the reset lasted a little over a week. It only happened once during my driving this weekend, but once is more than it ever did prior to the update.
This.
Seems to have worked for me. I did the factory defaults, which unlinked my phone, my FordPass account, etc. FordPass re-activation is easy via the app.
The metal bracket circled in the photo below is A) not securely "riveted" to the plastic and B) sits against the metal cross bar. Any slop in this system and a metal-on-metal sound will occur.
I made three modifications with craft store supplies:
1. I added a strip of double-sided tape between...
Thanks for the clue. I just popped off this panel. It looks like their are some air bag solenoids and metal hoses beneath the trim piece. The clips that retain the plastic trim don't hold it firm and that allows the plastic to tap against the metal. A few strategic pieces of isolating material...
I also have this. A light touch temporarily quiets it. My suspicion is a bit of dust is in there but I haven't had a chance to take it apart and clean it all.
Can you describe this rattle any more beyond "metallic ticking"? I'm chasing what sounds more like a "clunk" than a "tick". Only happens at low speed, doesn't necessarily happen over bumps (but might), doesn't happen by shutting the tailgate or shaking or banging or anything.
Since the update I also have the electrical interference/buzzing. I have also correlated it to going into reverse and a couple other actions that I can’t pinpoint. It is also fair to point out that I think my CarPlay connection might be a little more reliable.
Just wanted to chime in and say thank you for the writeup. I finished the install this morning and it is exactly what I was looking for!
I used the following:
ProClip mount, #855783
Tackform 17mm AMPS mount, #TF-BS-125
Course Motorsports MAGSAFE charger, #CM2.90088
3/8" self tapping screws...
