Install any time you like. Just because you have the procal installed will not harm your engine. If you like break the motor in slowly and wait to romp on it. But when you do get on it you will smile.
I guess I am old but I usually will bend one of the prongs on the plug slightly so when it’s in the outlet will not come out easily. Done this a few times to overcome that outlet issue.
I could see your point if there was more than one driver. I got mine manual for a reason, less stuff to break and I do not move my seat often. They are nice in my wife Navigator.
Your specs for your use sound perfect. Braptor is wide and the styling may be over the top for some but I dig it and the width is a non issue for Starbucks and the dunes. And the on road ride is near perfect for a brick. Do not let your wife drive one.
If your moving slowly yes if your sitting still on hard surface no. But it should not bind like you mention. CHeck according to that thread. Fords used to have recalls in the old days for this stuff especially Towncars and Crown Vic’s and Mercs. Corrosion issues.
Unless the warranty thing means something to you then do it yourself. Waste of time to have the dealer take your money for what you can do and slim chance the dealership would disapprove any warranty claims because you did the install.
