the IAG bag is great - bought it early in ownership and love it. Had a couple bronco buddies but the same as a result. Protects the windows well and it fits behind the second row seats in the small slot between the seat backs and the trunk liner side bulges
if you really feel you must hit em with something now, I wouldnt take em off. Just climb under there and do your best.
Assume you're planning on wheeling again this year...
I take mine (3/16" steel) off each winter and touch them up. sometimes a little sanding if needed (the big gouges) and / or some rust converter. But really just a few top coats - I use the krylon textured black cuz thats what I painted my bumper with. plus the skid removal gives me a chance...
That's a great line up. MAny hours on the trails! You'll be in good company and dutch john is a great trail. dicky bell is really just the hill climb. hopelly I can join yall
dutch john has a trenched area that looks a little intimidating but is very passable, when descending it gets a little off camber and the steering rack needs to work. there is bypass tho if you go through the trees up the hill. Dutch John also has another rocky area that I hid tranny skid...
not sure what everyone is running but dickey bell is absolutely doable without a spotter, with lockers.
I may be down to head there on the 6th. I was out a week ago and there was certainly some mud. I was driving to pinehurst yesterday and went through what mustve been 3" of rain but that...
i have a 2024 2.3L. I use an evacutor to get as much oil out as you can (for yall that know it certainly is not all of it). I drain the rest out the drain plug with butchered up 2 liter bottle to keep the oil of my skid plates.
But as an FYI - a slim 12 oz beer can fits perfectly on the oil...
my rear recovery hook (still have the plastic bumper on the rear) has seen its shared of being dragged on a rock. If I had a hitch receiver , it would likely have seen the same. As brian mentioned, offroad varies. if there was a trailer connected to it, it would be a no go.
However, assuming...
CalvinT's clip above is where I'm cautious. When the ass gets light on a descent, and the weight of the motor pulls down into a drop, that when the bronco feels she's ready to tip.
under the rear seat storage is a great spot for stuff. all my trail gear is on a shelf in my garage. I just toss it all in the cargo area with a couple bungees when I head out. I do not have spare CVs.
at the bottom of this thread you'll see posts with blown CVs, diff issues, et cetera. If you want a warm fuzzy feeling:
you've got 4.7 gears, assuming you'll be in 4LO in a CV threatening scenario
youve got the M210 diff and associated CVs (and HD steering rack)
MAny of us have done what you...
I wish the wolf box would let us download different formats off the memory card via a card reader. forgot which but I need to pay
I wish the wolfbox let you download files from the card via a reader in a different format. I need to buy some $8 software to view them. so the only way is wifi...
maybe sounds like a heat shield rattling when it happens the second time in your clip. i usually want to blame skid plates for noises, but even aluminum plates would sound a big bangier than that
digging up this old thread - @mattusmc what do the solo's look like on the driver side? the brake lines seem to be directly in the way of where the flat stock pieces go. I assume you use the smaller ones on the driver side.
I'm preparing some prep for portals and UCA double shear is on my list.
I daily mine but i have a few other vehicles. If they ship at the end of June as Turn's website states, I'll install them in July. although it also says estimating 15 days to ship.
I'll bring yall along for the install and test ride
