Anyone with these running a jumper / bonding from the bracket to the frame?
I just installed one and it isn't performing quite as good as the hood lip mount I was using, so thinking reduced ground plane is issue. Still very usable just a little more static and less range it seems.
Been looking into 1 of these. Wondering if rather than "mounting" traditionally you could run cords/bungees across top of truck to the trail sights. So the loose side of cover just overlap back of softtop lifted or not. And essentially guyed to the trail sights. Then cover tailgate area.
What bracket did you use to mount the lights? I can't find anything specific to KC and Bronco, and the ones I've seen for Bronco can't tell if the large bolt on the slimlites will fit.
This is exactly what I have been looking for. I want an NMO mount on either side using the trail sights. Currently using a lip mount on the hood itself.
Preorder has been placed.
Took delivery at Mac Haik -Ford Jackson, no ADM for my reserved/ordered Bronco. Good communication along the way, but no signed purchase agreements or anything.
It is working very well for me. I think there is a little directionally with it on the side of the hood, but seems to work well around town. Most the active repeaters are all across town so 15 ~ 25 miles away as the crow flies.
The mount itself is holding steady, haven't had a chance to try...
Taking the stuff apart is the thing I hate the most. I had found a video of someone taking apart the dash for a stereo upgrade that helped me out although in the end pretty much just the panel under the steering wheel and the glove box had to be removed. And the a pillar covers for the head...
@Hambone08 Ha found ya! Sounds like we will be seeing each other around since I live in Madison and work in Ridgeland.
Did we just become best friends?
