  1. Steering Gear Failure

Just got word from the dealer that the steering gear finally came in. Only 2 1/2 months wait for a part. Letā€™s hope the repair will complete soon and I can drive the Bronco again.
  2. Steering Gear Broken

Update: The part suddenly came in and is being installed. With some luck I should have the Bronco back on the road after the weekend. Canā€™t wait!
  3. Steering Gear Broken

Great news. That gives me hope that a part will show up eventually at my dealership, too. Fingers crossed...summer is not quite over yet.
  4. Steering Gear Broken

No buy back offer. I also would not consider it. I waited to damn long to get the one I have.
  5. Steering Gear Broken

My steering is making a pretty sick sound every time I turn the wheel. You can hear it inside the vehicle and outside, too. So I guess there are different stages of the defect. I do pray they will get a spare part in the not so distant future. This is going on for way too long already.
  6. Steering Gear Broken

Same here. No parts, since early June. No end in sight. Same dealership, though.
  7. Steering Gear Failure

I'm in the exact same boat. Waiting for a part for a month and a half, with no ETA for it other than that it is "prioritized". And the summer ticks away while we wait....
  8. Steering Gear Broken

Nope, no news on an available spare part yet. I really hope there is any summer left when Ford decides to make a part available. They sure have enough parts for the production line, but none for warranty repairs. I donā€™t think this is right. Yes, parts break. I get it. But this is going on for...
  9. Steering Gear Broken

Just a simple left turn at a traffic light.
  10. Steering Gear Broken

This sounds exactly like my problem. I am glad I am not the only one. Yes, mine failed out of the blue as well. Good thing that your shop was able to get a part to get it fixed. I am not so lucky. Its seems all parts go to new cars and none to warranty repairs, so Ford can meet its quarterly...
  11. Steering Gear Broken

I wish I knew. They did not share what exact part is failing. Only that the part is not available.
  12. Steering Gear Broken

No, there is no option to get an alternative vehicle. I do get that things break, but I don't understand that no parts are being provided for repairs. Everything goes to the production line and nothing to repairs. Customers with existing cars waiting for repairs just have to wait until one of...
  13. Steering Gear Broken

Might be. Iā€™ve only been given the information that it is the ā€œsteering gearā€, but I really donā€™t know what part is actually broken.
  14. Steering Gear Broken

The steering gear of my ā€˜22 Bronco is broken afterwards only 6000 miles. This seems like a quite unusual issue. Has anyone had a similar problem? This is quite the safety issue! And if this happen to be a known weak part, are there aftermarket replacements for the Ford power steering? The...
