My discussion with a wrap tech is that the adhesives on an inferior film sometimes create this issue. The issue is that the binding between the adhesive and the film do not stay "connected". I am not an expert, just passing along the information that I was recently given.

No, It was done at a local shop that specializes in vinyl wraps. I suppose you could try your hand at it. It’s a 3m vinyl. I just wanted it done well, and i know the guys do good work. so, it was an automatic choice for me to let them do it

I did full coverage. so far, so good. I would recommend making sure you use an experienced installer. Don't think my guy has done it a ton, but did a pretty good job. Taking it back Tuesday for some touch up items(bubbles and a couple of edges) Cost was about $3500.
