I tried out "bass blockers" which are essentially crossovers but they made zero difference to me so I took them off. But after reading 100s of pages on this forum and from my own experience I think if you use a more expensive speaker that already has built in crossovers you don't need bass...
I have to admit I don't listen to audio books or podcasts either and I have my EQ tuned down closer to flat. I do turn up the radio to about 15 and at 20 it screams with the Sub doing it's thing.
I also did the poly fil and kilmat into the open speaker cavities and I hooked up crossovers and...
I think if you just used one of your Focals for the center you would of been good right? Crutchfield says there is an integrated, high-fidelity crossover. I also upgraded all 5 of my 4" speakers with Focal ACX 100s and I have been good to go. The only thing I have noticed is the sound from the...
I have a similar issue just not as bad as yours. It just leaks at the very top, driver side, above the vent seem but only in heavy rain. I assume its from a bad seal on my hard top. But to be honest. My jeep leaked a little bit too so was to be expected.
I think you’ll be fine. I liked the B&O but just wanted to tinker as well. I think if you turn on surround and turn down your EQ you’ll be fine. I don’t have the bad rattle everyone else does but my EQ is low and I listen to the stereo at 13-17 range (top on).
I thought of this after I replaced all my speakers but to the people using the harness adapter from Amazon. It fits perfectly into the factory plug but the connectors that plug into the speakers are terrible. I would also grab some shrink wrap and slide a tube onto the wire and connect the wire...
I swapped out my B&O with Focal ACX and I'm very happy. I am not using bass blockers on any speaker and it works fine. I'm not super technical but it could be that the Focal already has a built in cross over (so does the Polk DB402).
I would buy 2 sets of Focal ACX and replace all 3 up front and one in the rear pod if you're really trying to save money. If not, buy 3 boxes and sell one extra speaker on the forum (that's what I did). But 100% replace the center channel.
Nice write up. I agree the middle speaker is the workhorse and shouldn't be missed. Skip a rear pod replacement if you don't want to buy the extra speaker. I have focal all the way around now and really like them for my ear. I also added fill to the back pods as they are pretty deep but unsure...
I saw 5 Broncos today in an around Little Silver. I'm the VB Badlands with upgraded rims and tires. One was an AMB hardtop with upgraded rims, not sure of ties, and a custom plate. Nice to see so many on the road now.
Match the spare and get 17'' rims. I had 20s on 33s on my wrangler and I love my 35s on 17s on the Bronco. Not sure what it is it just looks way better with more tire, esp if you have SAS
Does anyone want three 4" speakers from from my Lux B&O system? I already gave away the right and left dash speaker and I have the center and 2 rear pods left. Will ship and you can vemo me the shipping after you receive them.
Not sure. Curious what you did for the sub though. I think the Focal ACX 4" sound pretty good. I'm starting to change my tune that it was worth it. Just needed to drive around a bit and listen to more songs.
