  1. Offroad tire pressure

I always keep a viair 100% duty RV air compressor in my wrangler for airing up after offroading. I run 15 psi crawling and 20 psi on rough forest service roads. I also 3D printed some deflators that I use so I can air down faster as well. I would also recommend anyone running oversized tires...
  2. Pin hole in muffler - residue from Dirt Mt ?

Somebody stole your muffler fluid! Just joking. I usually see weep holes at the back of the muffler, but with the chambering design and what not, this may be a better place for it. Burning gas makes a lot of water which condensates in mufflers until they come up to temperature.
  3. 1000 mile road-trip: Interesting lessons learned

I use rain-x windshield washer fluid in all my vehicles. It makes cleaning them easier, and it really helps in the rain. The wrangler flat upright windshield just like the bronco doesn't shed rain well going down the highway. The high pressure area right at the cowling basically just makes...
  4. Ford oil change intervals

I do all of my own oil changes at home, so I often do them early when I have time. Turbo motors get it more often due to the extra heat in the smaller engine and turbo. I've had to help so many folks deal with variable valve timing and valvetrain issues where old oil has clogged up screens...
  5. Bronco Team Engineering Confirms 7.0 Quarts for 2.7L Engine Oil Change is Correct

My concern is how does the bronco do at those angles when it's low on oil. I had no doubt ford thought of that when they designed the oil pan. Those angles are sketchy to drive. Here's a video of my jeep a couple weeks after I bought it.
  6. Bronco Team Engineering Confirms 7.0 Quarts for 2.7L Engine Oil Change is Correct

I think a bigger concern on the bronco is when climbing/descending steep hills for extended periods, when does the oil pickup go dry? Under normal road driving, I doubt a quart low or high is going to destroy the engine. LS motors in GM cars had issues with oil starvation under hard cornering...
  7. 3,600 miles - Should the front axles have this kind of rust already?

Yeah, late braking and all. I was just trying to be funny. I'll include an emoji next time.
  8. 3,600 miles - Should the front axles have this kind of rust already?

You should see my skid plates on my jeep before I clean, prime and paint them every couple years. There's a huge fluid film thread on one of the wrangler boards I visit. It's good stuff. People used to put linseed oil in frames and such for similar reasons. Just don't get it on the exhaust...
  9. Why are y'all not doing the Bronco Wave?

I wave at wranglers from time to time. Most of them give the two fingers on the wheel wave which is difficult to see usually. I have heard enough about the etiquette of waving on motorcycles mostly from cruiser riders that I always give goofy palm forward waves on bikes. I have seen at least...
  10. Auto Stop / Start stopped working

A button you have to hit every time you start the vehicle so Ford can get EPA emissions credits.
  11. Auto Stop / Start stopped working

Auto start stop definitely shortens the life of $150-$300 car batteries. My wife and I drive 95% highway, so it doesn't save us any money. CAFE requirements and additional off-cycle emissions credits from the EPA for systems that can't be turned off permanently drive the car manufacturers...
  12. Pedal Commander Throttle Response Controller Now Available

Torque management to stop warranty claims and improve fuel economy. I'm glad to see this is out there to overcome that stuff. Throttle by wire has a lot of advantages, but the implementation sucks for spirited driving and control freaks like myself.
  13. What an Antenna?

Yeah, most new cars have antennas in the rear quarter or back glass for AM/FM. Wranglers and Broncos don't have permanent rear glass. I show people all the time, and they never noticed the antennas in their rear glass.
  14. How often do you need an alignment?

Unless you bend something from a big hit (rock to the tie rod or pothole), you're just going to get slop from worn ball joints and tie rod ends, etc. Alignments will not fix that. Keep an eye on your tires and rotate them often to get the most out of them. I have never had a shop align my 2015...
  15. Base System Subwoofer Install

When I installed a sub in my base 2015 Mustang GT, I tapped the left and right front channels at the radio, because Ford put a high pass crossover on the rear deck speakers in the Mustang. You either had to install a device that turned the bass back up on the rear channel, use Forscan to turn...
  16. FIXED: Headlights turning on when switched off

I manually control the lights on all my cars, even the ones that have automatic settings, so I can relate. I run full headlights during the daytime, so auto doesn't do it for me. I hated the auto headlamps on my 2000 S10 pickup. You had to do some stupid button press to keep them off every...
  17. FIXED: Headlights turning on when switched off

Hopefully Ford doesn't make the switch default to automatic every drive cycle? Wranglers sometimes have issues with dome lights staying when the doors are on or off due to system confusion. I've had to go and open and reclose doors before to get the light to go off. Rant: I hate all the new...
  18. Is This Right? Suspension looks like it's not tightened down from the factory

Those are the bolts that will strip out or break off in a number of years after salt exposure on the roads. That only happens if you need to back them out for some type o major body or drivetrain work, though. They hold the body to the frame. They're kind of important. I've found loose...
  19. Buying with a Credit Card

My understanding from a former credit card company employee is that the bonuses and cash back are paid for by the vendors where the cards are used. It's pretty unethical. I don't use rewards cards. See interchange fees: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/money/who-pays-for-rewards/
