Local guy made the aluminum bracket - had to add a piece of steel for the GMRS antenna. Can reach it to fold over from the driver's seat.

Here's my setup - highly recommend the CA-2X4SR - no ground plane needed and fold over to get in the garage - works well. Other is my GMRS - added a steel plate to the aluminum bracket for mag mount. 73, KD4RHO

Live in Las Vegas and went to the rodeo earlier this year - no bug problems but bring protection just in case and check the weather for clothing...I was glad I wore layers and brought a jacket. Most of the afternoon you're driving so not an issue. Really enjoyed it!
