  1. About to get a Defender but turned to Bronco after test drives :)

I drove a 2020 Defender 110 for a year until my 21 Bronco came in, sold it for more than I paid for it with 8000 very hard trouble free miles….was my second Land Rover and far more reliable than my first. I put it in the deepest swamps I. East Texas and it performed unbelievably well. I sold...
  2. 3500 miles in 7 days. 'My Impressions" and Comparisons (from a 20+ Jeeps veteran)

I had a 2016 Jeep Rubicon manual, now have a 2022 Bronco four door 2.7 auto Sasquatch. Off road I prefer the Jeep, maybe because I have more confidence in it? On the highway there really is no comparison, the Bronco is far superior in comfort and road manners. I can’t imagine a die hard Jeep...
  3. Off-Rodeo Failure: No Manual Broncos Available

I went to Austin in summer of 21, back when it was a two day course. I drove a manual on the first day, then auto the next. After driving both I changed my order from manual to auto. The auto can do things the manual simply can’t, although I strongly prefer manuals to autos in general. Trail...
  4. Put 35 inch Raptor tires on my stock Bronco

    No modifications at all
  5. Put 35 inch Raptor tires on my stock Bronco

I have a 21 Raptor that I wanted to run Nitto Ridge Grapplers on, so I simply took the factory tires and put them on my 21 Big Bend, with no lift at all. The tires are BF Goodrich All Terrain 315/70 R17s…..fit great, no rub lock to lock, poor man’s Sasquatch!!
  6. Installed Katzkin custom leather seat covers in Big Bend interior

Since I wasn’t patient enough to wait, I ordered a Big Bend (which I could get) and then swapped out the cloth interior for Katzkin leather. Out the door was a very reasonable $1850, including same day installation and tax. I have a January confirmation deposit and am waiting on the order...
  7. Off road observation

Austin had about 40 Broncos to pick from, all were Sasquatch that I saw. The Base with Sasquatch held their own, the sway bar disconnect was demonstrated, but I never needed it on the trails. The lockers were very much needed, the one Bronco that lost its ability to lock needed lots of help to...
  8. Off road observation

We went 8/21 and 8/22, ten hours over two days, I think it is a long 10 hour day now in Austin. I think much better over two days, but I know they are incredibly full seven days a week.
  9. Off road observation

The stick is a seven speed, crawler is just below reverse, once you are in C it is difficult to shift to/from this gear during your hill ascent/stream crossing/bog etc. I found myself needing Crawler for parts of a climb but not other parts, but didn’t want to lose the momentum to get into...
  10. Off road observation

My wife and I drove our Big Bend (just hit 5000 miles) to the Austin Off Roadeo last weekend. All in I would highly recommend taking the course. I am planning to take the Raptor Assault class in Utah in January, and plan to take the Off Roadeo class again if my second Bronco evet arrives. I...
  11. 3000 miles in…good, bad and the ugly

Visibility is fine with top up, side mirrors are especially good with two piece blind spot mirror. Another point I forgot to make is zero means zero on the fuel gauge, I hit zero miles remaining as I pulled to the pump and it took 20.6 gallons before the auto shutoff, in a 20.8 gallon tank. My...
  12. 3000 miles in…good, bad and the ugly

As the OP, it’s hard to believe how many opinions there are out there, the passion for the Bronco is real, I am a car guy through and through, I enjoyed reading the responses. A few clarifications, I don’t care about getting 18.3 mpg, just putting it out there as a data point. I have a 67...
  13. 3000 miles in…good, bad and the ugly

I just passed 3000 miles on my Big Bend, which is a very basic rig with four cylinder engine and soft top. The good…..excellent road manners, drives incredibly smooth even at 90 plus mph, far superior to my 2016 Wrangler Rubicon, really no comparison. Even without lift or aggressive tires it...
