  1. Trip Report: Back Way to Crown King Az 3-9-24

I've run that trail (and tons of other AZ trails) many times. My off-road groups start to get annoyed with me because I'm constantly stopping to get out and pick up trash, but I want these trails to stay open. Side-by-Sides were a mistake.
  2. Front Diff Leaking - am I missing two bolts?

I checked mine again, and if you look at my original photo, the oil starts up much higher than the drain plug, (by the time it drips down along the diff casing, it ends up looking like it's just below the plug - my pinion area is more oily than the bottom of the diff case. Time to schedule a...
  3. Front Diff Leaking - am I missing two bolts?

How many miles on your Bronco? Mine started leaking between 35k & 40k...
  4. Front Diff Leaking - am I missing two bolts?

Went to do my 40k oil change and my first peak under the Bronco revealed that the front diff is leaking (I've changed my oil myself every 5k since new, so I'm under the truck on a somewhat regular basis). Once I got the skid plate off, and started to investigate, I've got two blank bolt holes...
  5. Nut Shaped Foam Piece

First thought when I read the thread topic:
  6. A/C issues…

About 5 hours into my 6+ hr trip from San Diego to Phx, the A/C stopped blowing cold air and only blew ambient temps… I tried shutting off the air and fan, letting it rest while still driving, turn it on and it would blow cool for a minute or so before returning to ambient temperature. This went...

    @Nanook How'd it go?

You'll be fine for the whole trail, including the staircase. Just brake hard/go slow going over each "step" on the way down. If you have the forward facing camera, use that when you enter the staircase and you'll have no issues.
  9. Comparing portable twin cylinder air compressors with set target pressure option

There's an extensive thread about all the rebranded versions of this compressor: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/napa-maxi-trac-300lpm-dual-cylinder-air-compressors-list-of-identical-rebranded-compressors-some-in-stock.43685/page-22#post-2060679

@RedDawg For future reference, remember to fuel up before you get to 4 Sons at I-17 & Carefree Hwy. They're very proud of their gas.

You should have no problems on Broken Arrow in your Wildtrack.

@Canyon Coolers 'Trail Control' is really under-rated - it's pretty impressive and I don't ever hear people talking about it. I've used it on some pretty severe hill climbs/decents and it doesn't skip a beat. It's not what you want to use in a rock garden, but I don't think that many realize how...

@Felix808 Re: Broken Arrow, I ran it a couple times this spring and a couple times last year. I've got a Badlands Squatch and am still surprised at the lack of ground clearance under the body - I scraped/banged every time (unless I took the least challenging line) on the short slick rock hill...

@Felix808 You're early enough you could still get a permit and add on Soldier's Pass - they only allow 10 permits a day for vehicles - fun little offshoot and there's an insane sink hole/collapse plus some fun hikes.

@Felix808 recent comment on alltrails.com says it's closed as of 07/25/23 with a dirt/rock pile blocking the entrance. Could be due to weather/erosion, side-by-sides tearing it up, or probably both.
  16. Ineos grenadier

I like it, but $72k starting for the bare-bones base for a pretty stripped down "utility" vehicle is a bit much - getting one with options I'd want far out-prices my desire for it. Hoping they sell like hotcakes to the "I need the latest & greatest" crowd, who will quickly realize is drives...
  17. air mattress or camping pad suggestions?

This one's ~$40 - I've used these in my other off-roader, cheap and gets the job done. There's another thread where someone used 2x4s and a small square of plywood to level out the Bronco bed when the seats are folded down. Haven't camped out in the Bronco yet, but I wouldn't be afraid of using...
  18. Breckenridge CO Off-road Trip. Holy Cross/Red Cone/Wheeler Lake.

You feel like you're at the top of the world on Red Cone. Wheeler lake is just a beautiful spot and really fun trail; wish I'd had enough time to camp out there for a few days. Looks like a great trip.
  19. "I like your Jeep!"

When I had my Land Rovers: them: "Nice Toyota!" me: "It's a Land Rover" t: "yeah, isn't that a toyota?" m: "No, it's a Land Rover" t: "But it says 'Range Rover… That's not a Land Rover…" Then me trying to explain that the Land Rover brand makes several models of vehicles that includes the...
