I have been advised by colleagues that Japanese companies do not like to make large step changes to products generally speaking. I mean just look at the history of the Taco. I’d be very surprised if Toyota offered up much more than what’s new with the 2024 Tacoma. They just don’t need to...
Can you comment on why you mounted the strobes low vs high up? I was thinking of the same thing but putting them on my roof rack. Id like to be able to use them as “zone lighting” while camping too.
Can anyone provide a detailed measurement of the load floor with the seats removed? To be transparent, I am laughably bad at measuring. I want to make sure I am confident before spending money on building materials.
Would you be willing to share your design files for those of us learning CAD? I have access to a plywood CNC mill. I would like at the very least be able to place the bolt holes accurately.
Yeah the Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires on my partner's subaru are actually really good in winter. Not as good as my Nokians, but damn impressive for sure. I think your take is spot on. I live in Montana and I sure as hell don't want to be driving around with bad tires with all of these idiots...
After 8 months of 2D ownership, I have learned that it's a perfect size for me + 1 + dog. Given the smaller space, it does pay dividends to cut down on stuff you bring and try to utilize every inch of free space for stuff. I think a level seat delete + drawers will make all of this so much easier.
Can you try charging it from the AC port and report back?
The 110V provides ~400 watts. In the Ecoflow app you can set the Delta 2 AC charging rate to well below 400W so it wouldn't draw too much power.
When I plug the battery into the port to charge at (ideally) 400W, the battery just clicks it's relays on and off without charging. It feels like there is an electronic thing preventing the bronco from recognizing the battery. I can charge my laptop just fine. I have tried it with the car...
yep, I think 3PMSF is awarded to tires that beat an old all-season tire in acceleration in a straight line… just marketing to swindle people who don’t know better.
I wish there were more details about the rubber used. Like temperature ratings, silica %, etc.
I just ordered the studded version in the 285. Best winter tires period. Maybe blizzaks but LT3 is a gravel/off-road resistant winter tire.
Ukraine war has disrupted Nokian so I am pretty sure we won’t see very many LT3s non-studded for a bit.
Remember, your only connection to the ground is through your tires. The best system in the world doesn’t matter if you regularly exceed the traction your tires offer.
Driving on roads is the most dangerous thing we do. Get proper winter tires. They cost about the same as most people’s deductible.
Live in Bozeman, MT and just got back from 2-weeks home in the midwest. My 2D was fully loaded with a RTT and hitch cargo rack. I averaged 12 MPG across North Dakota. That damn wind!!!!
Another vote for default eco. It's way better on low speed city streets. I'd like to have Eco and Sport and delete normal. I either want all the power or none of it. No halfsie bullshit.
Another upvote for pakmule! I think it's the best and least janky. I use it as a bike rack + cargo storage when I am traveling somewhere like Moab. I also use it for hunting now that I don't have a truck. Fits a cooler for elk and can handle the weight! Now the Bronco suspension on the other...
