Mine was where the inner axle shaft joint meets the axle tube - passenger side.
My bad part was shipped back to Ford the next day, not able to keep this.
FWIW- just my opinion here, but after going through this same issue, I would suspect the C-clip was on the axle shaft, but the shaft was not fully seated into the axle. The clip broke, which is the material that chewed up the splines on the axle shaft.
my guess is the lift pucks had nothing...
Picked up my Bronco today. Got some pics of the bad axle shaft. Seems to drive good, tested everything before leaving the dealership.
Hoping everything is good now, time will tell. Thanks for all the input on this. I do wish they would have replaced the diff, but service says itās been flushed...
Hereās what Iāve been told is happening.
They ordered a new axle shaft and seals and āone time use boltsā to complete the fix.
They will flush the differential and replace all parts and seals, then refill differential. I asked about shavings in the differential and he assured me they will be...
I donāt have a ton of experience with axles and CV shafts. Iāve replaced a few on quads but have not seen the current issue my Bronco has.
This is my question.
If they plan to replace only the axle shaft which was ground smooth on the teeth of the inner side, is there not a good chance there...
I was told to call in to Ford, once over 30 days they can start to forgive monthly payments for this situation. Mine is also at the dealer waiting for front axle shaft. Drove 240 miles total. Talked to Ford yesterday and thatās who told me to wait until a full 30 days have passed. Then they...
Thatās not funny. Iām a 21281 engine build date. Oct. 8, 2021. Same as the most recent casualty. Makes my blood boil as itās my wifeās first new vehicle. Now I wonder how my newest vehicle is my least reliable and itās only only 3 weeks old.
I go out and get in our 1956 F-100 and it never...
Mine was passenger side. I never actually had working 4x4. I tried it out once and it didnāt work for either front wheel. Mine leaked from day 1, seemed to come from the seal where the axle shaft goes into the axle. Gear oil. Was mostly just the oil but some milky appearance, assuming from...
Yup! Get out and lock them in.
axle shaft teeth were ground down on the last inch. Likely happened the first time it was put into 4 wheel drive. So waiting on an axle shaft right now.
This is a bull bar I took off our Expedition, put on our Navigator, and then put on our Bronco. Made some brackets and bolted it on. Pretty good fit, prolly add some lights later on.
Originally made to bolt on to an Expedition. Bronco frame was about 5/8ā narrower where it bolts on behind the...
Update:
Right front axle shaft was not seated into differential. Thus the leak. The shaft didnāt push far enough in to engage, so thatās why no 4x4 from the factory.
No parts available at this time.
Just another let down to get through till we can enjoy our Bronco
Thanks for the replies...
Just to clarify, I called the dealer the next morning after seeing the leak on the floor, and they said to drive it and see if it stops. So I did, and then 3 days later it hadnāt stopped , so I called and they said to bring it in. Just reread my original post and realized I had not clarified...
All my miles. Had not tried 4x4 yet due to the leak.
Dealer said to drive a few days and see if the leak stopped. It never stopped during the next 3 days, so I let it sit in the shop till I had a chance to get it back to the dealer, who is 1.5 hours away.
I do wonder how much leaked since it...
This is my first post on the forum. Have been using it like crazy to educate and ready myself for our new Bronco.
Was built Oct 21, 2021. Base Black Sasquatch with the 2.7. Soft top to get it now. Delivered Jan 3, 2022 to Iowa. Apparently it sat in a rail yard forever.
I loaded it on my...
