Hey! Sorry for the delayed response. I had/he has a CFX 55IM; but he has an adapted/custom/cheater bracket that bolted to the top of the other standard bracket that gave it adjustments higher than standard. I currently run a 45 with a goose gear slide and no shelf and didn't run any other fridge...
Yup. I started with a '23 2.3L MT Badlands non-SAS 2DR and after 14k miles of adventure I wanted to add some more of the tech options... so I found a '23 2.7L AT Lux non-SAS 2DR. My brother has a '22 2.3L AT Badlands SAS 4DR, and a buddy in town traded off his brand new tacoma after driving both...
For anyone interested... I finally had time to mess with the rear bumper I had made by Expedition One. It had been on the vehicle for a while but I hadn't located/mounted the spare or swapped the mount hardware over to the RotoPax stuff I already owned... in the end I decided to drill 2 new...
I have almost 10k miles on them, with 38 and 40" nitto trail grappler MTs and have never heard noise from the portals at any speed, slow cruising through small towns, at 80 on the interstate, at 20 or 40 in Johnson Valley hanging with the braptors and raptors.
I forgot to take a pic.. but his sasquatch is still level with the full rear delete, and passenger seat delete, and cargo shelf, a flip n slide and a dometic cfx3 55 (empty), and he also has the subfloor batteries, molle panels, etc... my entire former setup.
I never had the AAL interior in the bronco in the profile pic; but it wasn't too squatty unless I also loaded up all my camping gear, a full fridge, and lots of extra water. I can take a pic tomorrow of my buddy's 2 door badlands sasquatch that it is all installed in now.
I ended up having a buddy decide he wanted to copy my entire setup... but he was short on time... so I traded him my entire non-finished/non-final version AAL interior, compressor, fridge, etc. to him for some other things. I plan to re-order when I get funds again... so maybe I can get back out...
I attended the Spark's Offroad Rally hosted by @Lobo Off-Road on the 28th of last month, and the smaller group run to Bronco Gnoll on the 29th.. that was my first experience with anything high speed desert style. I usually just do trails and camp... so it was pretty fun bouncing all around at...
@Lobo Off-Road That was so fun. I really hope we can do it again next year and the next! Also- thanks @Dusty for the shop recommendation for the CV boot kit install.
I just did another couple thousand miles from TX to KOH, around, and back to TX. And I believe I averaged a little better than 13.5mpg at 2-3 over posted speed limits the entire time, on Nitto Trail Grappler 38" M/Ts (13.5" wide). I tried to make splits on my Garmin GPS unit and take photos of...
The kind of good news is.. I didn't have to change any pro cal settings since I was already maxxed out. Also- speedometer now is within 1/2 a mile of the gps speed at 0-40mph; haven't been outside of town yet.
74weld's shop is 1300 miles away from me ;/ I was just posting for reference since the brake line poke on the original setup was a concern for many. I think it's apparent despite the differences in the staging how much better the portal and brake hardware is protected in the new setup.
If I was...
Update: I managed to buy a set of the Method MR706 Bead Grips while they were discounted ($171 vs $319); they were on the approved list... I didn't have time to break down the hutchinsons and 40's before I have to leave tomorrow to make the Sparky's Off Road event Sunday morning.. so I had some...
Third drain and fill completed today. Magnet had a bit of superfine metal dust but less than the second time.
I found the funnel I used the last two times at Ace. It can still airlock if you set the hose all the way down on the fill port and open the flow all the way... at half open I didn't...
There were honestly less shavings in the first drain than I expected, much less in the second. When I do the third in the next 2 days I'll take pics, but I'm hoping for very little.
