We picked up a used FE Sas back in June. We have put 20k miles on it since then. Currently sits at 82k. Absolutely love it. My primary reason for getting the Sasquatch package was our driveway. 13% grade for part of it, and 1100 feet long. I'm the 10 years we have been here, I've had to...
Mine heats all the way around. It's not like any other heated steering wheel I've had though. It's not super hot at all. But it's enough to keep your hands warm.
I have considered welding up a mount very much similar to my original, only making it out of aluminum. Should cut the weight quite a bit. I considered the lighter 9500# class winch, but there wasn't a lot of weight savings. Figure if I can't lift it I likely shouldn't be doing half the stuff...
Don't forget the hammer and Crescent wrench! Lol, on a more personal preference, I do include the tools I suggested, plus most of what are included in the super duper Bronco tool package. But maybe more importantly I include a way to call for help. That could be a cell phone, Starlink, Garmin...
Ours doesn't work at all either. Dealer diagnosed it and confirmed it wasn't operating. Turns out to be one of the control modules. Have an appointment to have it fixed next week. Sure would be nice to have it in these -20° F temps we have been experiencing.
I work a maintenance position, where we need to make quick adjustments and repairs daily. Our entire team carries a Knipex pliers wrench, Knipex cobra adjustable pliers, and a multiple bit screwdriver such as a Lennox 7 in 1. With those 3 simple tools we can do 90% of the quick repairs faster...
I have the tow hitch. Don't like that option, unless it's a pure straight pull backwards. Seldom would that be the case. The hitch is basically a bumper attached add-on. Not the strongest option. If I decide to go down this road, I'll post what I did here as a roadmap for those interested.
I was pretty sure it would be a full on fabrication if I did it. Just haven't looked at the rear with the bumper removed. I was specifically wondering if the frame ends would bolt up the tow hook like the front. The winch removable mount I made connects to those on the front. I'll just have...
Having not removed the rear bumper to look yet, but would the same front pull points mount on the rear bumper mount? I assume there would be some modifications. Reason for asking is I would like to use the removable front winch I fabricated if a pull from behind was needed.
We went up to the furthest point we could go on the Keewanaw peninsula early this fall. Had a blast. Absolutely beautiful and worth the trip. Bring gas, or you will many times be forced to backtrack. Copper Harbor didn't have any gas when we were there. We will be back next year!
I would love one of the full racks for the space, but then that takes away one of the best option why I have my Bronco.... The ability to easily take the three roof panels off.
I too am considering a half rack. Not for anything heavy as I doubt I would put anywhere near the 330pound limit up there. But the bulky stuff like tent, sleeping bags, etc. Just the stuff that takes up a lot of valuable real estate.
